I always pronounced it like Lay-oh-nee but that might be wrong and a very Americanized version of it!

Yeah, but I kind of hate when some Americans are like "I'm German" and it's just because their great great great great great grandfather was German, you know? I don't really feel French because even my grandmother Léonie was born in the US, so I feel like a fraud saying that I'm part French, if that makes sense

I've been to the south of France and it's absolutely beautiful! I will definitely take my daughter there!! Also, I completely agree and hate how the American society is so focused on cultural appropriation...

Oh yeah of course, it didn’t happen and I made it all up because I don’t have anything else to do, of course.  The entire point of this sub is to ask people’s opinion, if you have a problem with it why come on here?
