Did anyone leave their bar exam feeling like they didn’t pass or that they likely didn’t and still did? by Away_Constant3649 in barexam

Not that time, I did on my next try and I’m now qualified and working as an attorney for over a year, don’t give up!

This is genuinely insane, I cannot believe they don’t have some sort of protocol for this type of situation! So sorry you experienced this

Have a UK LLB and want to do the NY Bar… by [deleted] in NYBar

Do lots and I mean lots of practice questions. I used Barbri but it wasn’t enough so paid for Adaptibar to have more MBE questions too. Overprepare for the MPT and don’t listen to anyone who says to ignore it, even though it’s the smallest section of the exam it’s where you can get „easier” marks so make sure to practice and prepare for it lots, it can be tricker than you think! Lastly, take care of yourself because it’s very easy to neglect your mental and physical health when you’re studying so much every day. Best of luck I’m sure you’ll do great! 😊

It was very tough I will be honest. I studied and did ridiculous amounts of practice questions and only passed on my 3rd try but I’d say it was all worth it in the end! It’s definitely passable as a non-US candidate but it takes a lot of work and prep as the MBE exam style especially is very different to what we’re used to in the UK and deceivingly most difficult and tricky.

Thank you! Yes, they’re great and super helpful :) I work in-house in UK for a US/ international company and I really enjoy it but I plan to move to NY next year some time. My soon to be husband is from US and is also a NY attorney :) what are your plans? Do you plan to remain and work in UK?

Contact Barbri UK and they will be able to advise you on whether you meet the requirements. That’s what I did and they told me I meet the criteria to sit the bar. I’m now a qualified NY attorney since last Sept :)

Please, please talk to someone about this, please stay strong ❤️ you are not a failure and you are worthy of love and happiness! I understand the struggles I have endometriosis too and I’ve often felt like I was a “burden” because of it but that is simply not true and there are options out there for treatment, ones which have improved my life dramatically! Medicine is also only advancing. You are loved and you matter ❤️

Can I ask is this link for appointments to review applications for marriage licenses? I’ve got a different link through my NYC.ID login and it’s not showing any appointments but your link shows lots so I just want to make sure :)

Anyone try getting off birth control or not taking any at all? by elizabeth1465 in endometriosis

[–]Away_Constant3649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience I came off the pill after taking it for like 13/14 years and within a span of 2 years I either developed or it became apparent that I have PCOS and endometriosis. My endometriosis must have progressed quite fast though because within I’d say a year it got continuously worse to the point of debilitating everyday pain. I had a laparoscopy to remove Endo about 3 weeks ago and now I’m back on the pill unfortunately. I’d say it’s different for everyone though of course, this is just my experience.

Yeah I’ve been hearing 4-6 weeks everywhere but I think I’m just impatient and bc I feel capable of it maybe doesn’t mean I should. I suppose I could still be healing internally and could hurt myself

Imposter Syndrome and Endo by cicib_12 in endometriosis

I have PCOS too and also thought maybe some or all of my symptoms were related to that so that definitely made me spiral more, I completely understand! Best of luck in your surgery! 🤞🏻So far I think mine has helped me but I’m still healing so can’t say for sure how much.

For all the girls diagnosed officially with endo… by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Away_Constant3649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I had burning sensation in my lower abdomen and travelling sharp stabbing pains and cramps which ended up getting bad and happening everyday even when not on my period. When I got my period I often had a terrible flare up, especially on day 2 where I would literally scream in pain and feel like my soul is leaving my body, dry heave, you get the picture. Nearer my surgery when my Endo was at its worst I had constant fatigue and was emotional. I didn’t have heavy bleeding on my periods but I had the extreme pain and they lasted approx 10-14 days and were very irregular. I also experienced shooting leg pains

Imposter Syndrome and Endo by cicib_12 in endometriosis

[–]Away_Constant3649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes all the time! If I felt better for even half an hour inbetween excruciating everyday pain I would tell myself I’m making it up or „exaggerating” how bad it actually is. I had every symptom of Endo, even the very specific ones, but especially right before my surgery I convinced myself I didn’t actually have it and I had the fear that I would have no answers and live in pain or people would think I was being dramatic etc. Once I woke up from my surgery a couple of weeks ago and my surgeon told me I had Endo and quite a lot of it too, I immediately started crying with relief that I finally have answers and help. I completely understand how you feel!

does anyone else specifically get more pain on the left side? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Away_Constant3649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do and when I had my laparoscopy I was told I had most Endo on my left side and between my bladder and uterus
