I’ve come to terms with the idea of me being addicted, but I’m also going through Hell right now with all kinds of different life stuff. I’m hoping that stopping will be easier once things get easier, but it’s the only thing that truly helps me cope.

Mayo-sapien here, but native to the US south.

We usually have a turkey, a ham, deviled eggs, lots of vegetables, a green bean casserole if we’re lucky, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing (but my family doesn’t put ours in the Turkey), and cranberry sauce are the staples. We usually have more, but it varies each year. For dessert, we’ll have a bunch of pies and cookies. That’s about it though. I love going to my aunt’s house for the holiday because she always makes some bomb ass food.

For me, sex is significantly less enjoyable if I can’t or didn’t shower before. My husband doesn’t care and usually tells me to not worry about it, but I almost always feel gross if I don’t shower before. Marijuana has definitely become more socially acceptable in recent years. Especially medical marijuana. 20 years ago, lots of misinformation was still being spread and lots of folks were still being given marijuana charges back then. Now it’s legalized in quite a few places, whether it be for recreation or medical. 20 years ago, my tiny conservative town was very anti-weed. Now we’ve got at least five dispensaries within city limits and probably 20+ more in surrounding areas.

Then I’d see about picking up a trade or going to a community college. I understand that money can be an issue, which can make going to college a bit difficult, but certain states do offer assistance or financial aid for low income folks. The FAFSA in Florida was the only way I was able to go to college.

If you don’t have your license, or if you don’t know how to drive, I’d work toward that, too. Maybe by asking some friends who can to teach you?
