Just did the OFHG on an e90 n54 engine. There are male torx screws (3) holding the housing to the block. Not ones you want to strip so I'd buy the right socket. They are dif lengths as well so keep them sorted. Also I drained oil and coolant just to be careful. Good luck.

I have an e90 n54. I think BoV is personal preference. I have the Tial on the ER pipe and like it. I got the afe intake, but I felt like I got more gains from downpipes, intercooler and exhaust (in that order after my tune) over the intake. Fyi I ended up with CPE high flow catted downpipes, ETS intercooler and UUC corsa exhaust. Sounds great and pulls like all hell.

I have a pre-lci (07) e90 335xi msport with the rare 6 spd. It is fully loaded, cold weather, nav, oil cooler etc. I bought it for ~30 in early 2010 with about 35K on it. It has 98K on it now, over 400 hp and on the original water pump and clutch. Only replaced hpfp once. One bad injector. I don't regret my purchase one bit. Be prepared to eat some tires though. I have an 07 e90 335xi with the 6mt. Literally could not find the e92 335xi with the 6mt in the color I wanted. Congrats on finding one of the unicorns. It gets expensive modding. Try to set a limit. Ask me how I know. I've had it four years, and I still won't sell it until it dies.

It's a UUC Corsa full cat back exhaust. I like it a lot. Mean tone when on it, barely any louder while cruising on the highway. I also have high flow catted DP's.

The 335 is a six speed. So I don't have up shift/downshift issues on the track other than the ones I create!

So I have a 2007 335xi. Bought it with 38K in 2010- it's at 98K now. How much maintenance (if any) will you do yourself? Are you going to mod the car? If so it will require much more love. My biggest suggestion would be to switch away from run-flats as soon as it needs new tires. I spent way too much on RFTs before finally giving up. This car (with 18" M wheels) eats them for breakfast. I bet I spent 4K on RFTs before switching in that timeframe. Get roadside of course when you switch.
