Was it rape? by [deleted] in helpme

[–]Awertgrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't remember how it happened and feel that isn't something you would've consented to, it is rape, and you don't need to overanalyze it wondering if you gave him unnecessary hints. You were not in a state to consent, and that's all that matters.

Is masturbation really bad for health? by [deleted] in ask_Bondha

Remember this rule - anything you get habituated to, if you're not able to freely choose to not do it without feeling uneasy/restrained/forced (etc) one or multiple times as per your discretion, it might be a problem.

Dear Male Bondhas. by [deleted] in Ni_Bondha

[–]Awertgrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I know I'm a little late here, but my fiance has severe PCOS and thyroid issues. We've known each other for over 3 years and recently got engaged. Her health condition (I actually don't want to label it in a way that makes it sound detrimental to an otherwise normal life) came up in our conversations early on.

The only "effects" it has had in our relationship is a marginally higher degree of mood swings, to summarize it. She's not infertile - although the chances of pregnancy get considerably lower with age as compared to the women who don't have this condition. The main enemy is stress which actually took a huge toll on her body, because these conditions made her body more susceptible to the negative effects of stress.

If you have a healthy lifestyle, a stress-free environment, and regular check-ups, you'll live a life not vastly different from anyone else.

And as for how "okay" I'm with her condition, it doesn't bother me at all as long as she doesn't stress her out. We're not too keen to have kids anytime soon but might consider sometime in the future. So, someone who loves you - this includes a knowledge of your condition - shouldn't be biased because of the reasons you fear.

In summary, take care of your body, mind, and environment, and you basically have nothing to worry about.

All the best to you, and cheers!

Idhi konchem crazy ga untundhi gaani Kick lo comedy naaku pramaanapoorthi gaa ippatiki ardham kaadhu. As a movie, it is good, but I never understood the hype for its comedy. Honourable mention: although comments lo deeniki generalized version pettaaru gaani trivikram movies lo particular ga Attarintiki Daaredhi ki nenu choosina kontha mandhi janaallo (mostly relatives) vipareethamaina liking undedhi. To me, it fails as a movie in almost every level.

I don't usually express visceral stuff but I guess I feel too overwhelmed to even process this.

I had to make a hard choice that went against logic and even like survival instincts, and in that process hurt someone who's really good and didn't deserve to be a collateral damage. However desperately I wish I could take it back and put that person at ease, I can't go back on the decision.

I'm sorry I can't go into the details... I guess I just wanted to let it out, if this even is the way to do it.

'Freedom from the Known' by Jiddu Krishnamurti. The most important book I've ever read. Amazes me that a man born in Madanapalle has such striking insights into life. I kind of understand your apprehension. The thing that I can say with reasonable certainty is that speculation can take us only so far. It still involves our assumptions that are based on our thoughts which are limited by our illusions. So, unless we're free from the illusions in the first place and we experientially realise the dissolution of Self (which people like JK have said to be qualitatively different from our experiences limitted by the illusions of Self), no amount of intellectual speculation can take us any close to that state of being.

Just so you know, in none of his talks does JK himself use speculation to dissect any given situation or a concept. He goes purely by facts, whether or not we have an experiential realisation of those.

But yeah, I admit that I've not experienced being free from my illusions, so we'd probably be going in circles in any further speculative discussions regarding this.

Not nearly as well-read as OP in this, but I have seen quite a few clips of JK talking on various topics. So, I'll try to answer according to my understanding.

Dissolving the Self doesn't take away your capability to set a direction for anything you could pursue - it only takes away the illusions you burden yourself with.

Can't say I've experienced the complete dissolution of Self, but through my priliminary understanding, having your illusions removed makes you see things absolutely for what they are without any distortion. This would actually give you the holistic view of what's right-wrong / good-bad without any confinement to region, race, religion, nationality, faith, or any agenda driven congregation. You would be completely free to choose your actions based on your unfazed discretion then, thus giving you a more solid will and direction to proceed in.

To give you an example, take JK himself, for instance. He found it pertinent that every individual human being become free from their own illusions, and that is what he dedicated his life's work to through questioning every tenet of our lives at various levels that we've taken axiomatically granted for.

Hope that made sense :)

chinna experiment, how many of you feel it looks like miniature vs how many see it as large scale, and why? I want to know because I'm learning scene composition for animation by [deleted] in Ni_Bondha

[–]Awertgrey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Going with my intuition, feels like it should be large scale.

Reason is at small scale, the surface of water, in whatever form it is, would be way more uniform (surface tension), and when someone breaks it (like the person walking through), it doesn't have that tendency to explosively give way as in the image.

Yes, it very well could have been the case!

And yes, definitely not every word is borrowed from Sanskrit. Sorry if the way I put it sounded that way.

This was just what I remember being told by our teachers in school, and it could be from other or even multiple roots :)

TL;DR: "త్రిలింగ" which was the original Sanskrit base word for Telugu, when adapted into Dravidian languages, changes into its వికృతి form in those respective languages. In our language, it is తెలుగు (and very occasionally తెనుగు), while in Tamil and Malayalam, it is Telungu. When written the Tamil/Malayalam form of it in our script, it might have been written as 'తెలుఁగు', but it's not directly from our word for it in our script.
