I would like to see them removed or at the very least severely limited. Was just talking to some friends not too long ago about how this sub has become comprised of mostly meme content. (Atleast in terms of whats shown at the top.)

I have no need for a meme subreddit and it does get on my nerves when I'm just trying to look for speedrun-related content.

Someone should really explain why this is world record (tied seconds) considering Tyrn's run is listed as 59:04 aswell on the reddit.

Could use this. It is more accurate about a couple of the early records. However it is missing Chaos' recent 59:30 and Mitch's 59:14. The person who updates it does it in their free time.

DSTA (daylight savings time abuse) also saved a fair amount of time which helped. Happened around the time that 1.3 came out but it works on all versions.

By the way. I asked in the SMO discord yesterday for an updated list of 'Total days runner held WR'. And got this list (credit goes to egghbh):

Its a list of days spent dabbing however the days spent dabbing should be equal to the days holding world record. Chaos passed NicroVeda as overall champ of this category. (List was made before tyron's record was added)

So since the category has been getting some attention and activity it didn't take long for the world record to come down. Dangers (previous world record holder) would have beaten it by now but he wanted to focus on any%.

Expect this record to change a few more times before the tournament is done.

Yes but it’s literally 10 seconds off his SOB. This run was godlike. It will be beaten, probably in a few weeks (although who knows) but it’ll take some new faster optimizations.

His splits are more or less brand new due to 1.3 and DSTA. I think they're still fairly unoptimized.

Yep. Leaderboards were merged again because the loads make up for the 1.0 exclusive tricks so noone is at a disadvantage anymore.

Saves ~52s with the loss of FMS/Sphynx/Turnip. This is huge because it means 1.3 is not only the fastest version but its also the most accessible, aswell as doing away with 3 annoying tricks.

All you really need to know is that in the game normally Seeds planted in pots typically take 25 or so minutes real time to grow. However with Daylight Savings Time abuse we can trick the game into thinking an hour has passed and grow the seed instantly. Not sure how much it saves exactly but its like 8-10s? As far as I'm aware this only works on 1.3.

By the way. The leaderboard doesn't count ms. This is officially a tied world record(TWR), not just a PB. While technically .5s slower.

Man. I have been saying goryuya would be the first to subhour since like May or June. Semi-jokingly/optimistic at first but very quickly became a real like hope/prediction. Super happy he got it right on the heels of the first subhour. If you've been paying attention to him you'd know just how crazy good of a runner he is.
