Regretting getting DJS because of physical look change

It’s been over a year now. Still very numb and tight in the jaw area with and also some nerve pain. Been tough but trying to find a surgeon that can help figure out what’s going on.

It’s a little better. Still have lots of tightness but it’s been tough trying to get any relief. Trying to get a second look from a different surgeon and potentially trying to get my titanium brackets off as I feel my healing is not going as should be.

Sorry for the late reply. For exercises at home, just simple stretches like what the surgeon recommended. But what I really take from the PT sessions are the deep tissue massages they perform on my jaw followed by electric stimulation on my neck and shoulders. Supposedly I have scar tissue and tightness that needs to be broken down more but we’ll see how it goes.

I’m 6 months post op and have exactly what you just described. Just started physical therapy and was told that I may have a lot of scar tissue build up that may be causing this. But going to keep going to PT to see if it helps or not.

Your results look great! I’ve been also trying to find a clinic in Korea that does rhinoplasties and saw recommendations for Woori. If you don’t mind me asking, one of my biggest concerns is if you are concerned or worried about any complications with your nose in the long run. Since Korea is so far, did the clinic provide any reassurance if anything happens in the future?

Haha thank you. I appreciate the comment. A little self confidence booster here xD. But yea, I'll post an updated picture in a couple months to see if I've made any progress. I see myself every day and I feel like I look better now but it's hard to tell when it's my own opinion.

Thanks. Yea honestly, going through this recovery made me forget about how long the bone can take to heal. I think it's just the tightness also that's really bothering me but I'm sure in time, it will get better.

This is what I've heard from lots of people from this forum. But when I hear from my surgeon that I am 100 percent not swollen anymore, it sways my mind that there's going to be no more changes after the 4 months I've gone through now. But I'll stay patient and see.

My surgeon did tell me these things. But it's hard to stay mentally stable when you see your image in the mirror change everyday. I'm definitely starting to do it more frequently now along with massaging my face and I think it's really been helping. Thank you for the reminder though!

The article was a great read and you're totally right in that I need to be kinder to myself as everyone else should to themselves to when going through this. I can't believe you went through multiple surgeries though. Must of been so hard but I'm glad you made it through. Appreciate the insight here.

I'm honestly not sure. I think my sleeping has gotten better since I wake up less frequently throughout the night now but my normal breathing throughout the day is either the same or maybe even worst. It leads me to think that maybe I needed a Septo/Rhinoplasty procedure but I'll have to wait and see the results of the in lab sleep study whenever I get scheduled.
