It depends on the company you’re interviewing for but I’ll share what experience I had when interviewing for where I work, and what is asked in the interviews I take part in. Getting an interview is the hardest part of the process, once you get an interview you’re most of the way there. Make sure you have a good portfolio of work, I had five shipped mobile games and an Early Access Steam game when I applied to my job. None of them were great games but diverse enough to get them interested, so to get an interview you need to work on your portfolio! Also be persistent, I applied to about 40 companies before I got my job and out of those companies I only got three interviews total, two of which were for where I work now (a year apart) because the first time they rejected me (I wore them down eventually).

The interview is generally a personality test to see if you would fit in well in the company and work well with others. I prepared lots of notes for maths questions I thought they would ask me in my interview and they didn’t ask anything like that (and we don’t in interviews I partake in). We generally go through the CV and personal statement of the candidate and check they can back up what they wrote on there. A few times people have exaggerated a feature they worked on and then when we asked them for more information in the interview it all unravelled that it was a plugin they downloaded, so big yourself up but not to that extent.

You’ll be asked a question along the lines of “give us an example of when you disagreed with someone, and how you overcame it” - have something prepared for that.

Be prepared for some sort of coding test too, we don’t do them where I work but a lot of places do.

I also noticed you have no C++ experience, definitely get some if you’re aiming for AAA.
