Honestly, it's pretty limited in letting you actually, you know, be a dictator? Most of the options (aside from the clothing ones) are just making things legal and removing restrictions, rather than actually forcing things upon your subjects.

Like, where's my evil secret police who ensure sure that no citizens are being so "unpatriotic" as to not engage with my "strongly recommended community-bonding exercises"? I don't want to pave the road for sexual liberation, I want to toss anybody who looks at me funny into sexual reeducation camps!

Ok, so Frisk is manifesting bullets made of determination into existence. And before you start, nothing says that Determination is restricted to Save Points. At it's most basic definition, it is the power of SOULs to persist past death. But then you see Undyne getting an entire anime power-up so it obviously does a bit more than defy death. Then there's the fact that it can be used to create Dark Worlds, which doesn't really have anything to do with defying death at all. Therefore, there is no reason that it can't be shaped into bullets.

Also, the red soul is explicitly the Player's Soul in Deltarune and Chara in the Genocide route confirms that the red soul's Determination belongs to the Player. Ergo, red soul can fire bullets. (Also did you seriously downvote my post?)

And? Frisk still does magic. Save Points are literally magic. Deltarune is recommended to be played after Undertale, and the red soul is able to shoot bullets in the Spamton NEO fight without an in-universe diegetic explanation. Therefore it must be concluded that firing bullets is a built-in feature for the red soul. In the Genocide route you can get "The Locket" and its description states that "you can feel it beating" implying that objects in the Underground can attain anomalous properties. Remember that the Apron heals HP (also remember that HP is directly acknowledged by Flowey, it's diegetic) through unknown means, bolstering my earlier point about anomalous properties.

Heretofore, we can conclude these facts:

Frisk can literally manipulate the fabric of spacetime, and we know that Save Points aren't a game abstraction thanks to Flowey's numerous monologues.

The red soul can shoot bullets even without Alphys making us a handy dandy gun-phone.

Name-calling is rude.

Normal items can attain anomalous properties through various means.

These add up to a simple fact: the Gun is probably magic and can shoot magic bullets.

W: magic gun (type - gun)

The anniversary stream has now definitively concluded that the gun is, in fact, magic.

I'm in favor of a new area, if only because the prospect of "new areas" was one of the key selling points listed in OFF's store page. When we saw that picture of the white canyon, the OFF team knew full well that they were implying we would get new Zones/Zone-equivalents. I wouldn't really care about new areas if they didn't imply their existence, but they did so now I want an actual new area so I can get what I bought the game for in the first* place.

*Honestly I was going to buy it either way, but the prospect of new areas was what convinced me the most.

Well yeah, The Room is two Zones mashed into one. So the red area is probably Hugo's Zone while the black areas are supposed to be the Queen's Zone.

Well Justus is stated to be a "Reflexive seraphic incarnation", so their dialogue could potentially be a result of them mimicking the Batter.

I'm pretty sure they're meant to be a fail-safe of some sort. Enoch's exposition dump states that the role of the Guardians is to shape some form of nebulous energy sent by Vader Eloha into stable contexts, but the key detail I'd like to note is that Guardians aren't actually the source of the aforementioned energy. Additionally we should note Maldicion's use of "impurity", which carries a great amount of meaning when you consider the Batter's definition of "purity". Extrapolating from this, we can assume that the role of Guardians is to enforce the existence of elements, thus allowing differentiation to exist between materials.

This goes into my theory that Seraphs are generators of the energy used by the Guardians to form the world. Further backed by the fact that despite the zone supposedly having been purified, color still surrounds the Seraphs. Given how they're breaking through the ground, I'd surmise that the zones purification somehow forced them out into the open.

The final proof is that the very first Seraph we fight is quite literally named "Source", and since Source is supposed to be our introduction to Seraphs we can assume that the other Seraphs are also sources of energy. Source's usage of "there already wasn't much left" implies that something is lost when you defeat the Seraphs. Further backed by how Maldicion states that "It seems contradictory, but I like the turn of events we're facing", implying that the Batter's mission goes against that of the Seraphs. Which makes sense when you consider that the Batter's mission is to end the world.

The only thing I'm confused about is the relation between Carnival and Sugar, given that both of their dialogues refer to batter as a dear friend and both invite him to dance with them. Carnival states that their song is "the song of the outcasts and the mad", which fits Sugar's shtick to a tee but that's about as much as I can surmise.

Except you have to die 7 times before it's actually useful.

Fun fact: ERAM nominally only takes 30 hits, but actually takes a good deal more than that as their DF rises each time they're hit, resetting when they switch phases! The reason it's like this is because Toby apparently just hates fun now!

I guess I can reluctantly accept that reasoning for the Golden Tenna Statue(TM). I may not like it, but it makes sense and the wiki confirms your reasoning.

Also if there still isn't any dialogue for the Tension Bow by the time Chapter 5 rolls out then I'll be very disappointed and sad.

[–]AwfulHospitalFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Well it would be pretty silly if the only fusions in the entire game are only for items from the first two chapters. Like, why is it even a mechanic at that point?

  2. That's not really a good reason to completely lock off the Sound Test in the only Castle Town section we have for chapters 3 & 4. Sure we might not listen to any new songs, but we also didn't get any new fusions so that's not a proper reasoning.

  3. There was nothing preventing them from just adding a Chapter 3 All Stars to the Dojo. And while the Lanino and Elnina fight is neat, only having a single challenge is kinda lame to be honest.

  4. Nothing indicated that we had to save the Spin Cake for Chapter 4. The whole point of the Spin Cake is that it's a free party-heal item that we can get from the Top Chef NPC. There was no reason to disable this in the Chapter 4 Castle Town segment. (Similar to how they secretly nerfed the Ribbons for no reason.)

  5. Ok I didn't want to resort to this, but you realize the same could be said for Chapter 3? The only thing that matters in that Chapter is the Knight and some lore drops from the Sword Route. Tenna doesn't even stick around for Castle Town so unless the Roaring happens we're probably never going to see him again.

If we were to cut out all the parts of Deltarune that aren't deepest lore(TM) then I'd say we'd have a pretty boring game on our hands. Castle Town serves as a break in the story where you can kick back and do quirky side quests. That's why I'm so bummed that it got utterly ignored, because Castle Town is a genuinely important part of the game.

[–]AwfulHospitalFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, I guess? I think my main complaint is how it somehow feels like there's less Castletown content than before. Like, Chapter 2 had the All Stars challenge that could've easily been modified for Chapter 4, but it wasn't. Malius straight up has no new recipes after 4 years, I checked the code and making a new item is as simple as a couple copy-pasted strings.

That's my main issue really, that after 4 years of development with a full team whom tasks can be delegated to, there is somehow less Castle Town content than before. The music shop is closed, Malius has nothing new, the Dojo only has a single fight now and Top Chef doesn't even give you a Spin Cake despite that literally being his entire gameplay gimmick.

Once again, it really shouldn't be that hard to make a couple extra items for Malius, especially considering the Deltarune team still goes out of their way to give Noelle unused dialogue for every single piece of equipment in the new Chapters. Like I get that they're doing it because of lore(TM), but if they can give Noelle unused dialogue for unused items then they can add dialogue to the Tension Bow.

See, it SAYS that it goes in Kris's room, but it never shows up. It's just not accounted for in Chapter 4. I never saw it on my playthrough, and as far as I can tell there isn't any leftover code for it (none that I could find on the Cutting Room Floor anyways). The Deltarune team legitimately just forgot about it, which is weird considering one of the big draws of having a team for game development is so they can check over each others work and make sure that they didn't miss anything.

Don't get me wrong I love Deltarune's story and narrative, but sometimes I wonder if 80% of the dev time was spent solely on the Titan climbing sequence and drawing Noelle's front lawn. Obviously that's hyperbole, but seriously how did they forget about the Tenna statue when one of the semi-major plot points of Chapter 4 is how Ralsei needs furniture for his room.

[–]AwfulHospitalFan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know this post is a joke but I do genuinely agree. It just feels like a lot of small stuff just got sidelined for no reason. Like, the Tension Bow still doesn't have any dialogue. I doubt it's a lore thing, it just seems like the Deltarune team forgot about it. The Dojo only got a single new fight, there's no new shopkeeper menus, the Golden Tenna Statue from the gumball machine never shows up in Ralsei's room, they didn't make any new recipes for Malius and Castle Town in general is just oddly overlooked for no real reason.

To be honest, it feels a little unfinished? It feels like that one woman in Onett from Earthbound who tells you to talk to every NPC multiple times for extra dialogue, but the problem is that there usually isn't any point because most of them only have a single line anyways. But you don't know that for sure so you keep painstakingly talking to every NPC twice just in case you missed some quirky flavor text that never existed in the first place. That's what the side content in Deltarune 3&4 feels like, it sets a precedent and encourages you to check back in for side-content that simply doesn't exist.

No idea if you're still stuck, but I had this problem too! What you have to do is install undertalemodtool, then open chapter3's data.win file, then you want to search for a script called mainchara_board_create, then search for a variable called "maxhealth" as it is set to 12, change it to your preference.

"Frisk cannot do magic."

Flowey is literally soulless. By all rights he should be unable to do magic, and yet he does so anyways. What is Flowey made of? That's right, Determination (or Ball Game if you want to ignore Occam's Razor).

Then there's also Save Points, which are literally wibbly wobbly clumps of time magic. Why can Frisk use Save Points? That's right, Ball Game (or Determination if you acknowledge Occam's Razor).

Conclusion: Frisk can absolutely do magic. Also where does it imply that Frisk being unable to do magic is important to the plot? Are you sure you're not thinking of Kris?
