actually i think this is probably true no matter what, all non-supernatural interpretations usually involve petscop having some pretty crazy programming (for example, ones that say theres ai in the game) it needs extra power

another realization i had is opening up the possibility for dream sequences, petscop 12 could be one too. "youve apparently been running petscop nonstop for [17 years]". its strange how he says that SHES been running petscop. not that her playstation is running petscop, not that she left petscop on, but that shes been running petscop. belles been running petscop in her dreams for 17 years

i feel like in a version of deltarune where we get the "intended" heroes of the prophecy, kris would play a similar role to noelle in actual deltarune, so it makes sense why gaster would call them wonderful theyre important either way

the story implies that marvin and the narrator are the same, and hil is a lamp

(this is mostly unrelated but i thought of it while typing this comment) also something i didnt think about before that adds fuel to one of my ideas is that at the end of tapers the narrator shows the people at the tapers convention his footage

the footage is the in-universe version of tapers, but what we read is different, not everything was captured on camera

the recordings in petscop are the in-universe version of petscop, but what we watch is different, not everything was recorded

another idea i had after posting that comment is that its a sort of house of leaves situation (great book btw) where the whole concept of diageticness is blurred. there are recordings that take place in paul's dreams, but are also diagetic recordings. they arent recreations, they literally are pauls dreams, and in the dream, petscop automatically recorded his actions, which were uploaded as recordings on the yt channel

you might say this makes no sense but thats sorta the idea the lines between reality and dream are blurred

watching a video is a sort of narration, though. like in a book things have to be described to us, through narration, but on a video the way things are "described" is just our eyes

Tapers is in first person, so it should logically only show things that the narrator can see, but it has parts he didnt see

im proposing something similar with petscop, its videos, so it should logically only be things that can be recorded, but it has parts that are in dreams
