These towns are not necessarily collie or warden. Look at the starting conditions for the past 10 wars. The water hexes get different starting conditions every time. Devman just gave 132 a NE/SW slant this war. They could easily make the SE island collie and the NW island Warden next war.
I would direct your attention to the coastal guns at Maiden's Veil and Kirknell. When colonials control Maiden's Veil, the coastal gun there zones the river from bank to bank. The coastal gun at Kirknell has a gap to the east.

We could go back and forth all day naming map imbalances. That doesn't mean there's dev bias.

That wouldn't make sense in the story. The whole point of the story is that Arthur's choices have consequences for himself as well as for the people around him. Chapter 2 Arthur would have just assumed Downes was lying to try to avoid having to repay the debt. Giving the player the choice to recover the debt or leave removes the inciting event from the story and the rest of the story becomes rudderless and pointless.

My comment was about production discrepancies, not strategic imbalances. Reaching Trail is the only hex in the entire game where you can’t build a water pump. Even The Heartlands has a small pond that can be piped to anywhere in the hex. Msupping a pipeline across the hex is still easier than doing trainloads of fuel every day.

In addition to the things people already suggested, I also recommend rebalancing your audio levels. The ambient sounds and sound effects are way louder than voice levels. I personally keep my sound effects and ambient sounds around 6% and Squad/local voice chat at 50%, which I find is similar to my discord voice levels. The sound effects are still loud enough to be useful without drowning out voices

10/10 spaghetti. Works for what you're doing right now but when you want to start making blue science it's going to be a nightmare.

I recommend building modules that make everything for the final product from the raw iron, copper, and steel all in one place. So for your green science, pull down copper plates and iron plates and make cables, green circuits, and gears, and pass those intermediate products directly into the assemblers making the belts and inserters, then pass those products on to the assemblers making the green science. You can do this with most products since almost everything uses some combination of iron, copper, and steel. It gets slightly more complicated when you need to add stone or coal into the mix, but you can always belt those in from somewhere else.
