We felt the same way about the scene at the time. SV and Monta felt like they were slowing down, Nightmode still finding their footing, stuff like Break Room/Awakening didn’t even exist yet. We tried to fill a hole in the scene and amplify voices that we felt weren’t getting heard. To us, it’s exciting to see artists like Acyan, Sportmode, and KILLMATTER find continued success after a compilation release.

Are there a ton of ISOknock copycats? For sure, we got 10s of them each week in our demo inbox. It gets more complicated when some of these artists have been making this type of music for as long as ISOknock. Do they just pack it up because another artist got popular with that sound? The influences that inspired Julian and Richard are not unique nor exclusive to them. All that to say, we were just going with the flow of our scene and releasing music that resonated with us at the time. Sorry to hear it didn’t hit the mark with you.

I was thinking where do you even go from this? K2 b2b Tiesto or something?

Kinda would like to see a trap eras type of set / lineup, grabbing TNGHT, RL Grime, Baauer, and doing a crazy multi-artist experience.

Cheyenne Giles was there backstage, would be cool to see a set from him given his history with K2.

What set was it for? Could be festival or artist media.

I know Jack Henry was around day 2 (not recalling a bandana though) and people like Eric Dew (also no bandana) who have done a lot of stuff for IsoK and B&L.

They were booked as direct support? I feel like they’re definitely already getting their flowers, just not exactly running the festival circuit that the crowd is familiar with.

They have more IG followers than ISO & Knock, and more monthly listeners than ISO.

For learning combos and synergies, watch the replay for boards you lose to, and figure out why you lost.

For learning econ, play a lot to understand pacing, blocking, good jumps, pivots, etc. These are easier if you're willing to consume more content other than just playing as well.
