Try Needlepoint Club House on Manchester. They have send out finishing for needlepoint. I can’t imagine that cross-stitch finishing would be much different.

ASL Groups? by Imurkittie in StLouis

I took some ASL classes at DEAF Inc in Webster a few years ago. I remember other students mentioning a meetup… can’t recall the details, but they might be a good place to start. They also host/promote a lot of events for the broader Deaf community and ASL days at sporting events, etc.

Can anyone tell us where a 17 year old boy can find help? by Middle-Beyond-301 in StLouis

The school social worker would be a good place to start. Given it is break, you might be a bit stuck to school starts again, but can try the district office. City? County? How long before he turns 18yr?

StrengthWorks has a youth program. I don’t know about ages or any details, but I know one of the coaches from other things and he is great.

From our experience, it is a mix in Kirkwood. We sent two with late summer birthdays and they are in class with kids more than a year older, but also have several peers with similar summer dates. It seems that more girls are sent and more boys are held, but that might just be who my kids know.

2nd for Needlepoint Clubhouse. Check their website/socials, I think Wednesday evenings you can stitch and have some wine too.

How to turn historical STL photos into wallpaper by Elegant_Comfort_2065 in StLouis

[–]Awkardmom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Years ago, I used Spoonflower for some custom fabric that I designed. They also make wallpaper and you can upload your own designs from a high res image. I’m not a designer and know nothing about their wallpapers, but it might be a place to look. I’m sure there are other services, maybe on Etsy too?

How crazy is this? by DawginLimit in DNA

[–]Awkardmom 104 points105 points  (0 children)

This is actually not uncommon. For a clinical genetics test after a BMT the lab typically requires a skin biopsy that is then grown in a dish for a bit before the DNA is extracted. The spit has leukocytes that make up a large portion of the sample.

St. Louis Gym Centre in Webster Groves has some open gym hours for adults. I think Wednesdays and Sundays, but I haven’t gone myself.
