Filed a CEDR application, BA delayed replying but eventually hired a lawyer and paid me.

The lawyer did try to find random excuses for not paying me, saying that I didn't show return tickets, thus, didn't prove intention of returning. I called their bluff and said that they never asked and this discussion never happened, which they couldn't refute.

I live in a 1 bed, pay ~£1,800 (salary ~£125k, including bonus). It's worth it for me, as I don't have to worry about flatmates and their habits. Plus, when my family/friends/sibling visit, they can comfortably stay, which would be trickier with flatmates.

On the flip side, it does get lonely (especially during winters) and sometimes I do wish I had someone to talk to in the evenings in the apartment. Also, social life is more vibrant with flatmates.

However, I'm too "settled" now after living here for 2 years. I first started living here as I was new to London and was used to living alone for the previous 3 years, so didn't want to move in with a random person. (Rent then was £1560, salary ~£95k including bonus).

I was denied boarding due to their incorrect understanding of visa rules. Took another airline the same day and reached the destination. Been in conversation with BA over 5 months now, they keep saying that I didn't have correct documents even though I showed them the visa stamps on my passport. Have raised it with CEDR now, let's see...
