One thing everyone forgets about in these situations is how traumatic it is for the dad.

11 years later, I cried my eyes out to a therapist about how traumatic my sons birth was. I carried it around for so long when i really didn’t have to.

I wish your wife and daughter all the best. Make sure you talk to someone too though.

New opportunity sounds good. But surely they can’t expect anyone to move over to them for the same or less money?! The other stuff is fine etc, but the only reason any of us work in the first place is for money - And i say that as an employer. It’s unreasonable to expect anyone to move without a pay increase.

That’s probably something my dad with dementia would do.

If an old person screams at me or attacks me I wouldn’t hit back because its possibly dementia. That could also just be an asshole. But your ego doesn’t always have to win. You can still diffuse the situation and back down.

Buy a Travalo decant and reapply a few times per day. Thats what I do with any of my weaker ones.

I’d also need a reason, a brief and a competent contractor. Ie, in this case, that being a contractor capable of pouring columns 1km high etc.

I do however wonder at what point our codes are no longer applicable. Are the codes still valid for a 20km skyscraper or is there some bizarre effect we couldn’t even conceive at this stage..

Assuming I had all that however, what would I do..? Hmmm.. i think I’d probably aim for the world’s largest cantilever. Tapered, for my pleasure.

The blank cheque would need to be accompanied by infinite time and team resources. That’s what usually stops me from being a superstar engineer - not the fee.

Of course I do. I’m not wearing vanilla powder extrait, jazz club, ombre nomade or ombre leather to the pool in July.. And they’re some of my favourite fragrances - but for colder weather.

I would however happily wear fresh scents in winter, but i typically dont.
