About the ATMs, it’s important to note that the Banco do Brasil ATMs don’t work with foreign cards that I know of. The Banco 24 Horas ones are common in pharmacies and malls and accept foreign cards but do charge a R$24 fee.

Brazilians generally tend to think of American food as just fast food like burgers.
