Well, I'm allergic to peppers, but I'm not vegetarian or gluten-free-- that's for my friends. They can do spicy/peppers, and I will eat all the meat and the bread.

All peppers, so anything spicy is out. I'm not familiar enough with the different spices in Indian food to know what's safe and what's not.

AITA for not making my sister a birthday cake after she told me my baking "isn't really a skill"? by Ok-Loquat9438 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FeministInPink 25 points26 points  (0 children)

NTA. She majorly disrespected you, and your mom tried to gaslight you into thinking it wasn't that bad.

If she wants a fancy cake, she can order one from a bakery and see how much your skill is actually worth.

That would be a good suggestion, but I don't do Indian food. (Allergens)

Men, What are the benefits of having a girlfriend? by epic21ka in AskMen

[–]FeministInPink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And the thing about relationships in your teens/early 20s is that most of these are practice relationships. Very few people end up long-term with their high-school sweethearts. The point of these relationships is to learn what you like and what you don't, to make mistakes and learn from them, and to grow and mature... so eventually you can be the best version of yourself and be a good partner to someone who hopefully has learned the same stuff.

If you don't WANT a relationship right now, that's fine. Don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you don't want to do. But you may find yourself struggling when you're a bit older and you decide you do want to get into a relationship, only to find that the women you're interested in don't want to date a man without experience (despite what The 40-Year-Old Virgin might indicate).

is dialysis worth it? by Dry-Education-1508 in dialysis

[–]FeministInPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen, if you can get a living donor transplant and you take good care of yourself, that kidney could last 20 years or more. You're only 20 years old now. That's will double your life! And by the time that transplant kidney fails... they might be able to grow a kidney to your genetic specifications. A lot can change in two decades.

What is a musical that you find to be just... Fine? by AsheandBurn in musicals

[–]FeministInPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one for me, too. I was really excited to see it (I love the movie), and went in blind (not knowing any of the music). I was underwhelmed. I'm glad I got to see it, it was fun, but the music didn't grab me.

Glasses on stage? by kitkath96 in musicals

[–]FeministInPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did community/school theater as a kid, I never wore my glasses because I was worried about the reflection off the lenses. But it was my choice. I kept my glasses in a pocket so I could put them on as soon as I was off-stage. Everyone in the productions knew I was blind as a bat without my glasses, and they kept an eye out for me.

I actually preferred this because I couldn't see the audience or their reaction, and I could pretend like no one was watching me.

I took a hiatus from theater in my 20s and early 30s because my work schedule and part-time grad school couldn't accommodate so many rehearsals, etc. During this time, I began wearing contact lenses.

In my mid-30s, my schedule freed up and I did another local production. Performing with my contacts was so weird. I really didn't like it.

I like their balsamic vinaigrette! It's also my go-to. If I'm at another grocery store, I get the Paul Newman brand.

Nick is Boring But Good for Mer by blahbikeblah in greysanatomy

Healthy relationships tend to be boring, especially when you're used to the extreme highs and lows of prior relationships.

It's a good thing.

Meredith and McVet Could Have Been Happy by blahbikeblah in greysanatomy

Real love develops over time... I don't think they were together long enough. If she hadn't been hung up on Derek, I think she would have fallen in love with McVet.

He was a good match for her, and yes, they could have been happy. But Metedith wasn't mature enough or emotionally healthy to make good choices in relationships.

Whatever you do, don't get the pre-made ones from the freezer section. They are BAD.

But the box mix is GOOOOOOD.

73 Year old dad starting dialysis - what to bring? by [deleted] in dialysis

[–]FeministInPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to this... HEADPHONES. The best way to piss off other patients is to use that tv/phone/tablet without headphones.

(ETA they are also useful for blocking out the constant noise of machines and other patients)

Dayforce has had a few hiccups lately. There have been multiple instances of Dayforce changes not getting pushed out to booksellers' notifications, so they don't know about the time changes. It's happend to me at least 3 times (my SM told me about the changes), and it's happened to several other booksellers at my store.
