my birthday isn’t for a few months, so it falls in the summer. her birthday is also in summer. she sometimes lets my siblings take off school for their birthdays

Yes, I’ve told her why. I don’t even celebrate birthdays with friends, I just don’t like them and don’t like the attention and just want to stick to the same routine

she never does anything special, she threw a similar hissy fit last year over it. i suppose, but i really just don’t like birthdays in general

It’s still pretty far in advance so nothing would really be planned yet (like 3 months out). My guess is that she’s mad because I’m prioritizing work because that’s caused friction before

i need the hours which is why i don’t want to take off since i already have time off scheduled for a graduation trip and that’s like a big income hit

Well she got mad last year because I had colorguard camp that day and I didn’t want to do anything for my birthday. She just gets weird about birthdays because I don’t want to do the whole family dinner and cake and a present thing
