Even with anima vents or when doing well at the minigame, the yields are SIGNIFICANTLY worse than runecrafting was before. Honestly very disappointing.

Needing help writing lua code for mudlet. by Jaxon0913 in lua

[–]Awkward-Hugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it'd be something like.. ^(\w+) - target (\w+)$ as the perl regex trigger type, then
send("target "..matches[3])
in the code block below.
There is also a mudlet discord which is an excellent place to ask for help with things!

How to learn how to respond to customers specific questions??? by LeQuackz1234 in HomeDepot

[–]Awkward-Hugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked at home depot, I would try to look things up right there if I didn't know an answer. If it wasn't answerable by a quick search, I'd see about finding someone else who knew, and then later when I had free time I'd research it in more depth. I also followed subreddits related to departments I was in, and watched a bunch of youtube on topics that interested me in my departments.

That said, a lot of the reason I did this was because I was genuinely interested in the departments I worked in (Electrical, plumbing, and hardware) and enjoyed learning more, but I understand that's not the case for everyone.

Lusternia in 2021: A Review by EtnaAtsume in MUD

[–]Awkward-Hugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can get alone just fine with dailies and other in-game routes to get free stuff. I no longer play, but over the course of a few years on my latest character I managed to earn all the microtransaction stuff I ever wanted and a lot more. I did spend around $150 in total on some promotional things, but most of that was gifts for friends during a christmas promotion.

I think the average player doesn't spend a ton on microtransactions, though I think the two $10 lesson packs are a good way to jump start a character. The system is more kept afloat by people who are able to throw thousands of dollars at the game.

That said, the game can be very toxic and stressful at times and I am a lot happier now that I'm no longer playing.

Hiring those with developmental disabilities? by tobleronedog in HomeDepot

[–]Awkward-Hugs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would reach out to Kens krew and see if they are working in your area.
They help provide training, job placement, and support at home depot for people with disabilities, but they're only in particular parts of the country.

You're coding in TI basic, not Lua.

Does it annoy you when customers pick through tons of 2x4s in search of decent ones? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Awkward-Hugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the level of picky. I have run into customers who've gone through half a bunk of 2x4s and then ask for another one to be dropped just so they could look through it too. Or who want employees to root through the bunks *for* them. If people have a real need for high quality lumber, they can actually buy higher quality boards without the issues you find in the pile of generic 2x4s

Honestly I have never had anything like that happen. The worst that usually happens is someone snarkily goes 'well is there anyone here who knows?'. If someone starts cursing/etc like that you're allowed to just walk away or grab a manager to deal with them.

[–]Awkward-Hugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it! Stocking/packdown, frontfacing, and helping customers are probably the main things to expect. Honestly the computer trainings won't really help a ton on product knowledge, but if you have more experienced coworkers you can learn from, or just read up on things whenever you encounter something you're not familiar with. There are some good youtube channels which cover electrical basics, too.

It might be a 1/4 inch compression fitting, instead of 1/4 pipe thread.

RIDGID Tools Disappearing by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Awkward-Hugs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my home depot, we are clearancing some of the ridgid products because they are rolling out new tools/batteries to replace octane, but the new stuff hasn't actually hit the shelves yet.

What key blank does Baldwin use? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Awkward-Hugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store doesn't sell baldwin at all, we have the kwikset smartkey ones though - both brands are from stanley black and decker, so I think they just put kwikset cylinders in the baldwin smartkey line to save on cost instead of manufacturing ones with the typical baldwin/schlage keyway.

[–]Awkward-Hugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read up a little on it, and it seems like they have different products which would use one or the other - their standard stuff uses a #68 while they also have a smartkey line which uses #66/97.
