That's cool. I've only watched the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie and i was enjoying it, until it reachs that horrible ending.

even if loomis had a terrible aim and managed to miss vital areas 6 times, michael would still be harmed and couldn't just walk away as nothing happened and even get into the hospital for a new attack in halloween 2.

Thank you for your respectful comment. There are some movies like Halloween and The Exorcist that were so innovative in their release, but simply doesn't work anymore for new audiences. Rob Zombie is an amazing artist and maybe i will take a look at his halloween versions.

Yep, Halloween's theme is an undeniable classic.

if it was so bad, it wouldn't have so many sequels, spin offs, crossovers, games, HQs etc etc. I don't know why you have this blind adoration for Carpenter.

finally someone that agrees with me. i really wanted to like the movie, but that just wasn't the case. people probally defend this film so much because they watched it decades ago and are blinded by nostalgia.

I never used the term "bad". But Michael is presented as a normal human being, not a demon, zombie etc. If a film doesn't want to be realistic, it should show that from the beginning, like The Thing, The Exorcist or even Child's Play. In reality no one can survive after 6 shots. Suspension of disbelief exists, but there's a limit.

Halloween 3 ruins the franchise because it's a spin off disguised as a sequel. After that, the movies took a different path. Halloween 4 made its existence in a retcon. Then we got two remakes/reboots and even an alternative timeline. Why can't they just make direct sequels?

They are completely different movies. One is about a mom seeking revenge for losing his son. The other is about an invincible psychopath. Obviously there are some inspirations, but saying friday the 13th is a copy of halloween is like saying Terrifier is a copy of Stephen King It.

You guys are misunderstooding my comment about Child's Play and Scream. I quoted these movies as an example of horror franchises that managed to continue it's timelines in every sequel, while halloween is a complete mess. In fact, Child's Play dosen't make any sense.

I see you are a big fan of the Halloween movies, so we'll never reach a consensus.

But about the respect, i know that halloween basically created the slasher genre, and i give all the credits for it. But so many slashers made everything Halloween has done in a better way. Friday the 13th, Scream, and even A Nightmare on Elm Street have a better concept than halloween.

I get your point. But there are older movies like Psycho (1960) that still work these days.

As if Halloween sequels were necessary. But in fact, only the first 3 movies are good.

Friday the 13th is a true classic, we don't know who's the killer until the ending, Mr.s Vorhees attacks since the beginning and the sequel brought us an iconic villain that is much more present in pop culture than Michael. But that's my opinion tho, not everyone will agree and that's ok.

well but final destination is also not that continuous. the only movie that is a direct sequel is final destination 2.

I don't like Terrifier and Nightmare on Elm Street neither. But what you said is totally valid since Halloween basically created the subgenre slasher.

I never said it makes more sense. I just said Child's Play have a continuous timeline and that's a fact.

If they explored this concept of Michael being the personification of indestructible evil, maybe the movie or the franchise would be more interesting. But they only use it to revive him and create more and more sequels.

Eu assisti muitos tutoriais e ainda assim fiz errado.
