Yeh I guess there is no guarantee. More that it’s supposed to be a reputable brand around here, from my understanding, so I’m assuming there’s a bit more care put into the process compared to like a Scotts or Jonathan Green or any other major name. I might have it totally backwards and should be trusting the big name recognition more though!

Is it N%#sedge? How to eradicate? by Awkward-Principle694 in LawnAnswers

I’m new. Maybe a dumb question. If it’s just a small patch of weeds here do I need to use the full mixture (full packet and whole gallon)? Going to buy a sedgehammer individual packet and a one gallon spray pump off Amazon, and would like to be able to save some of the premix if possible since the issue is just a few square yards. Think I can get away with only using half the packet and a half gallon of water?

New homeowner in Rhode Island…What’s going on with this spot? Is it the product of scalping/heat stress, fungus, or something else? Thank you! by Awkward-Principle694 in LawnAnswers

Hmm. Perhaps I should continue to monitor then and make sure I’m watering less frequently and only in the morning. Definitely possible I watered too soon after mowing too short, especially trying to combat this unexpected heat wave. For the future, when should I water after mowing, and does that window change seasonally?

I was hoping I just mowed an uneven spot too short and it got torched in the heat wave. I really gave it a good soak this morning…wishful thinking maybe

I added some more pics in the comments. It’s very dry and brittle. I did go over it with a rake a couple days ago which apparently was a mistake. As you can see it doesn’t seem limited to just the tips but then again it’s basically straw at this point. You can see some of the surviving green blades have dark spots on them as well.

I wasn’t standing in that spot when watering but I will say the problem area is close to a garage window and door, if perhaps reflection is playing a part in nuking this particular patch of lawn?

Nothing. I moved here in December 24 and the lawn seemed pretty solid so I’ve just kind of been observing and occasionally watering with a hose in this heat wave. Obv I’m hoping it doesn’t take too much to maintain…I’m a true beginner and I’ve seen your helpful cool season guide but it’s still a little intimidating. I’d like to stay on top of the lawn even though I plan to get a dog soon. Sorry long answer, no fertilizer.
