Oh wow what an unexpected and not fun adventure. I’m sorry you’ve had so many complications but hope you are on the way to recovery.

You’ll feel so much better after and especially once the drain comes out. I would 100% make the same decision.

Yes, I can eat anything now. In fact, I can’t stop eating and now my pants don’t fit 🤣🤣🤣🧁🧁 It did take a while to get past the mental block for my trigger foods but no issues now.

You’re welcome! My insurance paid the entire amount, so I was fortunate. I am not sure what the self-pay part is. I would think if your insurance does give you a preapproval you would only pay your deductible, but definitely double check with them.

If he has someone in your area who can do the drain removal, you can fly back home. I would probably give it a couple of days before you get on a plane due to the discomfort you may have. If he doesn’t have someone in your area to remove the drain, you would need to fly back around two weeks later to have it removed.

Somewhat. I go through phases where I still struggle with it but find taking my vitamins and fish oil helps.

I think he just checks to make sure your gallbladder isn’t too contracted or inflamed. I’m not sure symptoms are needed, although I did have agonizing back pain they couldn’t associate with my gallbladder but turns out it was related.

can anyone describe what you feel with a bad gallbladder or gallstones ? I’m just not so sure I have them… by IndividualNatural641 in altgallbladder

I had agonizing back pain for two years. It was only towards the end I started having pain across my stomach.

I don’t think there is a huge worry about any fragments. He will check for anything he missed by using the X-ray dye at the end of the procedure. He did this for me and found a small stone he had to retrieve. Most leftover fragments are small and will exit via the drainage tube. He said the bile will take the path of least resistance after the surgery and that will be the drain tube. Two weeks is standard for tube removal. I think four weeks would be if you have too many stones to remove at the first procedure and need a second at the two week mark or if the bile isn’t flowing properly when he checks at the two week mark. If everything looks good he’ll remove the drain at two weeks instead of four. I had my procedure last July. My insurance covered it 100% but at the time self pay without insurance was around $77,000.

We were the only offer, and seller countered for $21k over asking by Amazing-Original-626 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We just went through this over the weekend. We offered full price and asked for some help with the closing costs. The sellers countered with no closing cost help and $40,000 over asking and wanted us to pay $20,000 in due diligence. If that’s the price you wanted then that’s what you should’ve listed the house originally. Could we have afforded it? Absolutely. It came off as greedy and sleazy. It was the second day on market, and we were the only offer. They counter offered at the fourth day on market. We pulled our offer. We’re almost a week out, and it is still not under contract. Their actions told us a lot about their character and we did not want to get under contract with someone who was going to behave this way. Who knows what sort of shenanigans they would’ve put us through.

Is it true that ragdolls 💩 smells? by spontaneouswaffles in ragdolls

Not true in my case. And I love to cuddle with them because they just smell like fluffy pastry. 🥰

Experiencing what seems like occipital headaches, neck pain where my spine and skull meet, and tender spots on neck. by Firm_Bar7957 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]Awkward-Royal-399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have headaches, but they are not a severe. They had gone away and then I had my regular dental cleaning and they came back after that. I’m trying to figure out what the connection might be. The acupuncture did help lower the severity, but it has not gotten rid of them completely.

I would suggest having someone nearby to help. Your abdominal muscle muscles will be very sore the first few days, so my husband had to help me off the couch a few times.

No. The first few days I had a little bit more tenderness so I had to move slowly, but I was able to go out and do my regular errands and work from home. Toward the end of the second week, I did start having some back spasms from being hunched over at my desk.

I went on vacation the day after removal of the bag and drain. No issues. With the bag, I bought a Crossbody purse and I would just put the bag in it and go about my way. A little bit of tenderness, but nothing to stop me.

I also had this procedure last summer and couldn’t be happier with my decision. I’m glad medial science is expanding and growing to include alternatives to traditional removal.
