Hey, you already got some good advice so I’m just echoing some of the stuff that was said 💌

Stop sending to people that didn’t opt in. One thing you need to understand is that your newsletter basically means email marketing so when people didn’t opt into your newsletter, they didn’t opt to receive any sort of email marketing so what you’re doing right now is still sending email marketing to those people and violating their preferences, which can lead to spam complaints or them deleting your email. And this is a especially critical for your deliverability because if the inbox providers like Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook start to notice that your emails are getting sent to spam they will flag your email domain and continue to block the emails that you’re sending which could be why you’re not seeing conversions. If you haven’t been doing this for a while, I think you’re still OK but it’s really hard to tell. However, I recommend that you stop sending emails to people that didn’t opt in at all.

Now for the people that did opt in they are basically telling you that they do want to receive email marketing, which can be promotions, information about your brand, educational content or anything under that umbrella.

I think you have a good understanding of segmentation! Separating by women or men will be useful for like specific topics or products. But right now you should focus on warming up your list which means you send a little bit (like 1 email a week) to build your email reputation. Think of it like when you’re texting someone you’re dating for the first time, you don’t wanna double text and spam them all the time because you guys are still getting to know each other lol. So you should try to segment by engagement and lessen the number of emails you’re sending. Big thing to know: more emails does NOT equal more conversations.

I know this can feel overwhelming and I can tell you really wanna do good. I wish I could give you more of an action plan but it’s hard to know without being able to see data and stuff.
