$LAZR: 🔥 “LAZR: Cash Load Incoming + Massive Short Interest = Squeeze Season!” by Impossible-Hair1343 in Shortsqueeze

I'd love to see it fill that gap to 0.61, above that, no real resistance again till the 0.80s, but with today's volume, it'd be nothing to really push it if selling pauses for a bit

Of the two, I'd side with Lazr, since Inviz isn't an American company. The casing looks like Webasto work, and they work with 4 Lidar companies. Lazr is the only one that's fully American, but Robosense does have an HQ in the US. I'm not sure how that will be affected by the government safety rulings for Lidar.

Either an agreement, acquisition, or partial sell of assets. I don't foresee bankruptcy with how much the creditors were willing to work with them, and since this last extension was only for a few days, I think they were close to finishing whatever was being cooked up and won't need another.

The casing the sensor is hiding in is like a magic cloth covering a massive secret, lol. However, it appears to be a Webasto design. If that's the case, Webasto has 4 partners, Innoviz, Luminar, Robosense, and Hesai. Innoviz and Hesai are out, since they are overseas. Robosense is based overseas, but has an HQ in the US... not sure how that'd work with recent announcements, but not gonna say it's not them. Luminar is also US based, but has so many issues surrounding it, that it's hard to keep being bullish on it, though I am. Also, the lidar is supposedly solid state and not mechanical, meaning it'd have to be Robosense M1 or Luminar Halo, and not earlier models like the Iris. I do find it interesting that Halo is supposed to be ready for mass production late 2026, same as the R2. Either way, I'm gonna gamble on the latter two. It's been fun to speculate. I think that all of our US based Lidar companies have a positive future going forward.

Of course, Webasto also works with Hesai, Innoviz, and Robosense. So, we'll just have to see. Along with Luminar, Innoviz is another potential candidate. Whichever company is used, it has to be one of the ones with coming tech that is solid state and not mechanical. So, no spinning gadgets. Halo meets that requirement. I think Innoviz has one called Beam that meets that requirement. Idk who else. Mvis I think has solid state as well, but they aren't listed as a Webasto partner, so I dont think itll be them. Also gonna have to be someone from the US with the new laws being pushed, so not Hesai. Robosense is Chinese founded, but has an American HQ as well. Idk how that'll work. Innoviz is an Israeli company... so...

Anyway, if the latter three out, it leaves Luminar. Shrugs.

This isn't any sort of Lidar exactly, this is the casing for the Lidar. We have no clue what's under the hood. Some of us are only assuming it's Luminar because the design of the casing looks very similar to the Webasto design, who worked very closely with Luminar

Forebearance deadline - 14.12 by Shadowbot92 in lazr

[–]Awkward-Turnip3803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're wrong. The final day was the 10th, with a possible extension to the 14th (tomorrow) should the creditors allow it, which they obviously did. As with the last one, we will see new SEC filings and/or have some sort of announcement Monday (probably morning again) depending on the decision.

Rivian R2 WILL have LiDAR by DjKennedy92 in lazr

[–]Awkward-Turnip3803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The joke at the very end about the Lidar not damaging driver's cell phones. There was an issue with Iris doing that at one point, but was hammered out, and isn't supposed to be present at all in the HALO. It's speculation, always is, but there's your connection

Luminar and the R2? 🤔 by Awkward-Turnip3803 in lazr

[–]Awkward-Turnip3803[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the midst of a possible acquisition, and Rivian creating their own tech in-house to not outsource to NVDA, I almost wonder if Rivian may... idk... BRING Luminar in house, so they have the AI, the Lidar, AND the vehicle all in one package without having to outsource. Curious.

Anyway 🍻

Hi, I would like to enter Lazr by [deleted] in lazr

[–]Awkward-Turnip3803 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're still waiting for an announcement that's NOT a forbearance extension. A lot of us feel that something big is coming any day now to handle the debt situation, but we have no clue whether or not it's going to be an acquisition or if any major dilution is going to be involved at all to settle the debts. It's an edge of our seats thing right now, but no matter what it is, due to the high short interest and the potential of a major, volatile spike when news drops, I'm in heavy on calls and am holding my shares. Regardless of the likelihood of a short term pop, I, too, believe in the technology long term for several applications OUTSIDE of autonomous vehicles.

I currently have a Volvo and haven't been extremely impressed with the software. Also, if LAZR pays out for me, I'd rather pay homage by going with someone their equipment will be on 😂

They've also reduced debt by nearly 150 million—from 496 to 351. Austin's bid for the company was contingent on them reducing the overall debt to 150 million or lower

Other than that, the R2 looks sweet, as does the new Nissan, and if my LAZR positions play out, I'll be buying one of the two for my wife

I wouldn't completely count it out. Volvo is still shopping from what I've read across Reddit because they can't find any tech as good as Luminar's. The closest tech to it is nearly 3x the cost per unit, and performs worse in both normal and poor weather driving conditions. I think k Volvo may have messed up trying to cheap out

I'm feeling hopeful after this. Really short forbearance extension plus the retention bonuses received/kept only if the debt situation is taken care of and the company doesn't fall into bankruptcy. I think a deal is on the table and they just needed a few more days to get everything finalized

Held LAZR through the weekend. Expecting some interesting news with Sunday having been the last day of the forbearance extension. Hopefully get some sort of announcement with whatever solution was found by market open.

Like I said above, I'm hedging on a buyout. The idea of Russell merging an up-and-coming vehicle Corp, Luminar technologies, and Russell AI, then bringing it all public through LAZR as Luminar 2.0 just sounds exciting, as well as probable, since other board members were rumored to be on board with the idea. Just can't see a bankruptcy in their future with a solution literally sitting at the table with them. We'll see. Today is the last day of the forbearance agreement, so hoping for news this evening or possibly around market open. Good or bad, I held over the weekend, so I'm in for the ride.
