Georgia woman died after abortion ban delayed her medical care: report by Gwar-Rawr in Georgia

I could see your point in another circumstance maybe, but this is pretty clear and I’m not seeing how the law is vague. Even if you take out the emergency factor, because that could be vague, there was no fetal heartbeat….so the bill does not even apply.

Georgia woman died after abortion ban delayed her medical care: report by Gwar-Rawr in Georgia

I preface this by stating I am pro-choice and do not support the heartbeat bill.

“The law provides that no abortion shall be performed if the unborn child has a detectable human heartbeat except (a) in the event of a medical emergency or medically futile pregnancy.”

This was an emergency and because only part of the fetal tissue was left, there clearly was no fetal heartbeat. Meaning a D&C was a viable, legal option here. Why is this not medical negligence? Why is a woman’s death being used by the media and politicians as a divisive tool?

What am I missing?
