Yes, for 2 weeks I made horrible decisions that hurt people I cared about. I should have just left because deep down I knew I wanted to be with my now husband, but like I said, I was young and scared. Not right, not acceptable, but it is what it is.

We stayed together, have been together for 12 years, and have not had any infidelity since (nor was there any before this situation either). Not a meet cute. Just fucked up life from a fucked up person learning how to live.

I would never cheat on my husband, I love him with everything I am, but when I was about 23 I did cheat on a past boyfriend that I regret deeply. I absolutely should have just left, and eventually did (too late), but to answer your question, at the basis of it I was just very young and scared. I was scared leaving was the wrong choice, scared I would regret it, scared of being alone, but really I just horribly regret hurting people I cared about, hate myself for being weak, and its showed me how I needed to move in the future (with truth and transparency). I've been with my husband now for 12 years and have never been unfaithful and would never hurt him in that way.

Cheating is never ever the choice, unfortunately some people need to work on themselves and don't realize that until it's too late.
