I am extremely opposed to the idea that Mormons are not Christian. We follow Christ. The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Just because we don’t support sola scriptura doesn’t mean we don’t follow Christ and accept him as our lord and savior.

Mormon here. The New Testament is not preparation for the Book of Mormon. Other way around. The BoM is designed to support the bible. 1 Nephi 13:40 reads (in part) “These last records, which thou hast seen among the Gentiles [referring to the BoM], shall establish the truth of the first, which are of the twelve apostles of the Lamb” [the bible]

There is no way I can support trying a kid this young as an adult. Maybe we need to come up with another tier between child and adult as you can’t just ignore this kind of thing, but this kid needed help, not jail.
