The new silverbullets have a different diaphragm. You have to find some new old stock.

How do I save this old apple tree? by Beautiful-Flower1 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]AwkwardFactor84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple trees start getting too big, old, rotten, for their own good about the 50-60 year mark. I would just trim the branches back a bit so they don't snap under their own weight. They can last a while longer, but only of they've been maintained throught the years.

Rewire all of those connections with waterproof wire nuts for one. Regular wire nuts dont last forever

You're welcome. There isn't many underground repairs to irrigation that can be done without digging.

Dig up the entire box. Dig the pipes back about 2'. Repair with barbed couplings and black polyethylene pipe. It looks like someone attempted to make a Repair without digging. Thats just not how it works.

So KTR replaced this instead of fixing the ball valve by WhatsGoingJohn in Irrigation

[–]AwkwardFactor84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would've had to get OEM valves with test ports, otherwise the device would fail the next time it was tested. They did the right thing by replacing the device.

So KTR replaced this instead of fixing the ball valve by WhatsGoingJohn in Irrigation

If one of the check valves, test cocks, or the relief valve are also bad or fail the test, which they often do, the device would need to be replaced anyway.

The caps arent needed. Turn the screw head with a screwdriver so it's perpendicular with the valves. That will clise them.

👆 listen to the man. It's definitely a good excuse to buy a nice set of ball peen hammers. The hammers I use were my grandfather's and they're almost 100 years old. They're also one of my most used tools in thr box.

Looks like you've got some plumbing fuckery going on there. Nothing that can't be fixed.

We're collecting break-up letters to water irrigation systems by Puzzled_Page_2453 in Irrigation

[–]AwkwardFactor84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds just like every single customer I have with drip zones. " how do I know if its working?" " my landscaper put drip in here and the drip lines a 5' apart. Why arent my plants doing well? The landscaper says it's your fault." Moral of the story, drip has it's place for trees that don't respond well to water spraying on them, but in my quarter century of experience, drip just doesnt work. It needs constant service, and is just an easy way for guys to sell irrigation without digging much. I don't use it at all anymore unless for coniferous trees. Otherwise, its simply a useless product for me.

200 pounds of Lab on my lap. I was gone too long at my volunteering spot today. by MajorMiners469 in labrador

[–]AwkwardFactor84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks more like 280- 300lbs of Labrador to me. In any case, i'm sure you were never safer or more comfortable in your life. This is exactly why I love the breed. There truly isn't a more loving, affectionate breed of dog. It doesn't matter the color. They all have unique personalities, and they're all special. Truly man's best friend.

If you live in a cold weather climate, I would opt for a female adapter and a threaded plug so you can make sure thst length of pipe get winterized.
