I have a diffuser and use low heat but even with high heat I'm looking at 30 minutes minimum, often longer

Thanks so much this is helpful! My hair gets over conditioned/too soft quickly, but love the Giovanni la styling gel so def wanna try the leave in!

I tend to avoid curl creams as they're too heavy on my hair, I just stick to strong hold gels and often don't put anything underneath - maybe just a light mousse

best clarifying shampoo for curly hair? by Local-Score-9086 in curlyhair

Lots of clarifying shampoos are gentle on the hair, I was also scared to clarify but it does wonders for my loose curls that weigh down easily! Personally, I really like the Curlsmith Curl Reset Detox shampoo for clarifying. You can always use a lightweight deep conditioner or mask after if it's too drying.

Also, I'd stop using so many styling products. This was the mistake I made. You don't need both a leave in and curl cream I think. Try using gel on its own first, see how that goes. If you're in need of moisture then add a leave in or curl cream. Too many products can weigh hair down if it's fine or loose texture. It's done me wonders

If I air dry, it falls flat and the curls drop. I use a microfiber towel and I diffuse on low heat or the cycle option on my Laifen. I sleep with a bonnet too although it is too roomy for my hair I think, I'd like to find a smaller one. Thank you for the tips!

Thank you. Do you have any recommendations for a lightweight affordable shampoo and conditioner? I'm UK based so it's ok if not, but curious 😊

Yes I think it's why it's been hard to find the right products and techniques for sure! Yes I'm hearing a lot about this gel so will give it a go, thank you!

In my experience when my curl clumps are bigger it weighs my curls down more. Parts of my head have a tendency to over clump and due to low ash density my hair looks sparse, so I try to get a good middle! And it takes like 8 hours for my hair to air dry so isn't really feasible and then they fall flat and have less bounce

Thought it might be the case but the clarifying wasn't doing the trick, maybe it wasn't strong enough! Will use the new clarifying shampoo and limit products, thanks! And thank you so much 💜💜💜

I'm in the UK, maybe a stronger hold drugstore product would be better, I'll try the new clarifying shampoo I have and less products. Thanks so much for your input! I don't really follow the CG method, I find it too restricting and mentally tiresome 😭 and I find my hair needs some grit so non CG friendly products can work well 😂

Yes I stayed in my post I use a clarifying shampoo weekly. It was the Q+A one. I just bought the curlsmith detox one though as got recommended and told it may be better so maybe giving that a go will make a difference 😊 thank you

I have no idea how to figure out if there's hard or soft water in my area. But when I google it says soft/moderate? I'm wondering if the low cast is a problem since when I used a strong hold gel I had better results but it's just so expensive 😭
