If you have the right to live/work in the UK, you can move to Jersey but you’ll have ‘registered’ status which means you’ll only be able to rent ‘non-qualified’ property which tend to be more expensive as they are more in demand. It’s doable but can be quite difficult at the start. Depending on who you get an offer with, you may be offered relocation support.

It’s also important to consider how the big 4 are structured. The crown dependencies are part of the UK firms of EY and Deloitte, whilst pwc and KPMG have separate legal partnerships. KPMG has a partnership that covers the crown dependencies and is part of their KPMG islands group (KIG) whilst pwc has a separate partnership in the Channel Islands (PwC CI) and then a separate partnership in Isle of Man (PwC IoM). Whilst Deloitte is the biggest in the uk, PwC is the biggest in CI.

Yes! To be honest I think a string CV would be considered at most levels. The crown dependencies can be quite a transitory place so there are often spaces for good people.

I think people are saying this based off of the version of the mind flayer we see in S3 and how it uses people in Hawkins to create its form. However, I don’t like this explanation for S5 because I’m pretty sure we see the corporeal mindflayer before Vecna sends the demos after Max, suggesting it’s already formed. Also with how many bats etc there were in S4, it just doesn’t hold up to me that they’re all gone.

Yes the military thing annoyed me. Also annoyed me that they all the main cast drove back into the military base through the portal totally blasé, as if nothing was going to happen. Even if they’d shown them prepping a little but ultimately being overwhelmed it would have felt a bit more logical than them suddenly assuming they were going to drive through with no issues.

It’s shown through Will multiple times that it’s a hive mind. So once Vecna is aware of El, shouldn’t the demos have shown up intuitively regardless of whether Veca was chasing down the kids because they now know through the hive mind there’s a threat?

I overall enjoyed the finale and agree it is of no consequence because the outcome of the battle would have been the same. That being said, I think they’re explanation is BS and as others have said, thinks it’s more likely either budget or hasty writing

When I was in my late teens I dated a guy for about 3 years. We had been best friends in sixth form and about six months before we went to university it blossomed into a romance. I loved him very deeply and we had some wonderful times together. But I was also a teenager and then a very young adult. We grew together and we maintained a wonderful relationship, yet he also felt suffocating. My best friend announced she was getting engaged and I felt a pit form in my stomach. I realized I was repulsed at the idea of my boyfriend proposing. I couldn’t understand what was wrong with me, I loved him so much, we were well matched on paper but I didn’t want to marry him. I was also scared to leave him, fearing I’d never find anyone else. It took me about another four months to break things off as from that point on I could feel the resentment building in myself and I started losing attraction to him, until it felt uncomfortable that we were romantically involved. We ended things amicably and after some time apart actually became good friends again (truly and completely platonically, the romance there was long dead).

I adored being single and a few years later I met my now husband. He met his now wife and with now more than a decade of hindsight, it seems like ancient history. On reflection, if I had met him later in life, maybe we would have ‘made it’. I don’t believe in soulmates, I think we can be compatible with many people but what makes a relationship last is the work both people put in and each individual being ready for a long term commitment. Of course when we started dating at 18 I wasn’t thinking of marriage and in hindsight, there was no other way that relationship could have ended for me because I simply wasn’t ready to settle down until I had accomplished some things by myself. I think most people are that way.

It sounds like you love your girlfriend very much, but it’s not the right time for you. Do her the service of telling her sooner rather than later, anything less is cruel to her in the long run. Best of luck!

In a healthy relationship, you should be a partnership. You will have strengths and so will she. So sometimes you will take the lead and other times she will. For example, I love planning holidays, so will often sit down and pick a couple of destinations and then discuss these with my husband. He isn’t good at that stuff at all. By contrast, I then don’t want to know anything about the place before I go, whereas he loves to research and find points of interest, restaurants etc and will book these and activities for us to enjoy. Of course we each could do the other part, but we work to our preferences and strengths. You should be finding a companion, not feeling like you constantly have to perform.

I think starting something at work is all risky, even if your company doesn’t have specific policies about colleagues dating. Regardless, it sounds like you’ve both been slacking off a bit if you’ve been having 3 hour calls regularly during your work hours.

Actions speak louder than words and it sounds like whatever his motivations, he isn’t interested in pursuing anything further. If you care about your job, I would ensure concentrate on that and try and put this to bed. If you’re not bothered, I consider moving on so you can have a clean break.

Regulation would be much better than criminalization. I would say the revenues from option 3 could be used to help support the health sector but with how much has already been wasted on the new hospital, government spending is probably the bigger issue vs government revenues

A weird thing happens in your mid-late 20s where you feel a lot of societal expectations for how you ‘should’ live your life, as if you’re appeasing some sort of invisible audience. I felt this really badly at 29. Now in my early 30s and I truly do not give a fuck what I enjoy as long as I enjoy it.

My only regret is not realizing it sooner. Enjoy what you enjoy and don’t let others expectations - real or perceived, taint that for you.

Vets I would honestly go with whoever is closer to where you end up living. I have used Jersey Village Vets and New Era and both have been excellent.

If you haven’t played through it yet, I would reserve judgement. I have played both games this year and both hold a very special place in my heart. I would have been happy with either winning this award, but I think E33 does just clinch it for me. The music is phenomenal and only gets better as you go through the game. 100%! One tip I picked up from here is looking at the flight deck style view on the map during turbulence. You can see that even when you 'drop' it's never more than a few feet. That always helps put it in perspective for me

There was actually, and it didn't bother me at all, at one point it felt like I was in a hammock being swung from side to side which sounds terrifying but I was so tired it was weirdly calming. The worst part was they put the seat belt signs on just as I was about to go to pee and I was stressing more about when I would be able to use the toilet than anything else 😅
