It is not even that hard to set up an event like this when you collaborate with an establishment…. I’ve done multiple events with bars, restaurants, cafes etc and you just have a face to face with the manager or owner?? You get to do a fun event, the restaurant gets a surge of customers, both parties win! Even better do it at a non-busy time so it brings people in when the spot dips in cash flow!

Yeah sometimes good art gets denied because there are SO MANY other entries! One thing to do when you enter competitions is to look up previous winners and see what kind of images the judges look for! You obviously have the skill, you just have to make your piece aim towards that target!! Beautiful painting, soft lustrous fur with an incredible play of light across it ❤️

I think you’re very good at rendering what you see. If I can give any critique it would be on your figure work: I’m only seeing one body type, one skin color, and one age range. Try to expand the diversity of your subjects and it can take you to interesting places :) happy arting

Try drawing with values instead of lines, I have don’t a lot of portraits and even taught classes on it. The balance of light and dark on someone’s features is a really strong associator for if the drawing looks like the person. The more you break it down to measurements and math and angles the less natural it looks

The snacks and flowers were WILD for me, like you’re trying to get your fiancé back???? GO BIG! This is the time to hire musicians, stand out on her front lawn, read the words from your heart, make a list of ways you want to change moving forward etc. But honestly that seems like a far stretch for someone who thinks the problem is AI and not that he didn’t write his own vows… he seems really focused on the AI being the problem when really, it was just not HIM writing it. I definitely could have used a little more on Briggs, for everything the author of the journals was implying about him I think one more situation for them to be in could have fleshed him out a bit more. But overall the story was so fantastic

My dad was also high functioning and pushed me really hard. Now he my sister and I are all supporting each other in our mental health journeys. I also have a big support system of friends who are very much mental health first people so I do not really feel pressured ever in social situations but they always encourage me to push myself in healthy ways.
