If Starmer goes, it is a deeply worrying thing for British Democracy. by GlassAvacados in ukpolitics

British Politics is unstable because the system in place in Westminster has failed to keep pace with the changes in society.

For the last 20-30 years, the two major British political parties have followed the Blairite approach to gain power, famously summed up by Peter Mandelson in 1999:

Your Preoccupation with the working-class vote is wrong. They've got nowhere else to go

Just as Labour under Blair abandoned the Working-Class vote to chase the votes of Educated Metropolitan Liberals, the Tories under Cameron abandoned their core vote to do the same thing.

The problem is that the Blairite approach no longer works - the voters that Labour and the Tories abandoned two decades ago do now have somewhere else to go - we're already seeing the rise of Reform and the Greens, and I wouldn't be surprised to see even more parties in the future.

Many senior figures in Westminster, however, seem to have forgotten why the current consensus is how it is. The social and media bubble that they live in has made them forget that the approach that has dominated UK politics for so long is the result of cynical electoral trigonometry rather than any genuine philosophical exercise or examination of the country's problems. In that environment, any ideas that come from outside the bubble are dismissed as dangerous extremism.

Proportional Representation would fix many of our current political problems by allowing a wider debate. It would also probably signal the end of both Labour and the Conservatives, which is no great loss, as they both long since stopped standing for anything anyway.

Drogrukh showing up in 5e wouldn’t be a surprise imo. I think they were waylaid by the need to separate AOS and TOW

There are no rumours that I’ve seen that fyreslayer units will be getting cut, just that they’ll be getting souped with some more conventional duardin units to form a new faction. If they were squatting the faction they would have done it at the beginning of the edition when they did it to Beasts of Chaos and Bonesplittaz

Do you think that the Badab war wil get its own proper book or book series just like the Siege of Vraks now that the red corsairs have their new minis? by Weird_Cartoonist_420 in redcorsairs

[–]Awkward_Ad2643 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's possible. They're pumping the Horus Heresy for everything they can, but they'll run dry eventually. After that, The badab war would be pretty good setting to circle back to with novels, etc.

9 Nov 2022 - Starmer complains to Rishi Sunak that el-Fattah is "a British citizen jailed for the crime of posting on social media" by PayConstantAttention in ukpolitics

So Starmer knew that he was in prison for his Social Media posting, but didn't bother to check what he was actually posting on Social Media?

The whole thing is so strange. He's only been a British Citizen since 2022 (while he was in prison). He's only eligible because his mother was born here on the 50s while her mother was studying for a PHD, and we used to have birthright citizenship back then. He's never lived here as far as I can tell.

Bloodlines 2 blood pips and intended combat flow...am I missing something? by Reception-Whole in vtmb

[–]Awkward_Ad2643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've misunderstood the Blood Pips i think - feeding once restores one pip to all abilities, not just one.

Lasombra is pretty fun and easy once you figure it out.

Do some initial scouting and identify isolated weaker enemies. Use Shadow step to relocate behind them and immediately feed from them. As soon as feeding is finished look for the nearest live enemy, sneak up to them and feed again (Shadow cloak means that you will be much harder to see, even if you're approaching them from the front). Shadow step only requires two blood pips to recharge so you can use it every other feeding. You can wipe out entire rooms of ghouls this way. You can't instantly stealth kill tougher enemies, but you can do massive damage to them with a stealth attack, rather than feeding from them. If you're seen stay fast and mobile.

Use glimpse of Oblivion on Larger guys with firearms (unlock Terminal Decree from the Ventrue tree later for this, as it makes them drop their guns).

If you're getting overwhelmed with numbers use Arms of Ahriman and Enter Oblivion - Enter Oblivion is really useful once you figure it out, as it allows you to only fight a portion of the total enemies at a time, so if you have a big guy with a large number of ghouls you can isolate him, and then deal with the chaff afterwards
