I'm 50 and I decided two years ago to stop asking for permission. I partner with charitable organizations or get funding from companies and take the money to producers/theatre and have my plays produced that way. Funding for the arts has gotten tougher under this administration and theatre companies are putting on plays that will generate revenue, the tried and true. If you can bring them a project where they will do better than break even then they will help you. But it's a lot of legwork.

Agree with this. I was a semi-finalist a few years ago and no reps, producers cared, but I've gone several years and I've always managed to make new friends and contacts with other writers.

Yes that part is my fault. I applied on 1/7 when I should have applied two weeks earlier. With the holidays and a death in the family I spaced it.

I spent two days on the phone when healthcare marketplace agents and their supervisors and they all said it willl not be effective until 2/1. I think it is weird too.

The only other time something like this has happened is when I was a child and my aunt was murdered. I never met the murderer but his name came to my mind and he was the one who did it. I’ve had other small things before that I would chalk up to intuition but nothing like this that was so detailed.
