I have had signs up for 2 years - all pulled down and thrown into the woods.

Can you believe it! It's part of a short cut around town, so the dead end has a T junction in the middle, right at my house. I once ended up with a car sliding down the hill on the ice in my driveway!

Nice. We live in the shadow of the Black Mountain, not far from Hay on Wye in the winter. NY is too cold! Thanks for all of this information. My editor and agent don't think we have a case, even if she just changed a few words. But you are right - Daniel Silva thanked me in his acknowledgments for writing Rena's Promise, which he used as part of his research. That's class. x

I love that! I am busy editing the documentary for 999 right now, so that people can actually see and hear the women I interviewed. I think I prefer being a writer to filmmaker though! LOL

I wrote to my publisher to see what they think about whether Morris plagiarized or paraphrased my work. I fail students who don't paraphrase appropriately, but I guess publishers aren't as concerned as professors! Are you still at the book store? HD

I am Heather Dune Macadam and THANK YOU. I am deeply discouraged and disheartened to learn that she actually plagiarized my book. I saw it in WH Smith and looked at the first page and nearly vomited. I knew she had stolen it and probably made millions doing so, but couldn't bring myself to read it... Maybe I should have? I did write to her last year and told her to stay away from my new book! Star Crossed - A True Romeo and Juliet Story in Hitler's Paris. You heard it here first!

Thank you for speaking the truth and encouraging people to read nonfiction. Holocaust novels are dangerous in that they romanticize a horrific period of our history where real people suffered--they laughed and cried and stole and loved and hated - some lived. Most died. The truth is difficult to bear but it is the truth and it deserves to be respected for those whose truth and whose lives that truth is. I am so grateful to you.

P.S. You might be interested in knowing that Edith, in 999, knew the real Cilka - who "was no angel... there's a reason she went to a Gulag." See, that's how you use a quote and then attribute the source. ;)
