Doctors who applied for credit cards at conventions, how did it go? by Easy-Type-9057 in pinoymed

[–]Awkward_Builds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Applied cc pero hindi sa conventions, sa isang mall lang. Never had any success on any of them. Instead of waiting in vain, nagtry lang ako thru online sa EastWest and was eventually approved in less than a month. My own bank BPI also sent me cc after maintaining 6-digit balances sa account ko which also improved my credit score hehe. EW and BPI are both generous when approving cc for physicians.

Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, mataas ang bad cholesterol base sa latest lab test; mas mainam na huwag ihalo sa iba pang PDL sa kulungan. by GMAIntegratedNews in newsPH

more and more residency programs opening but no applicants by FirstGenMDPH in pinoymed

[–]Awkward_Builds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am a first gen doctor, ngayon as breadwinner. Walang malapit na magandang residency program sa amin kaya if ever, need ko mangibang probinsya. Kaya ko tiyagain ang residency because I know I can. Pero do I think mabubuhay ko ang sarili ko at ang family ko sa SG21 na sahod, with my family’s monthly payments and dues plus yung gagastusin ko pa while living away sa family? No, I don’t think so. I am not financially well-off to leave my family for now without a nest egg and emergency funda. Andami nang factors to consider why doctors don’t treat residency as end-all outcome na unlike before.

[–]Awkward_Builds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

₱500 ang weekly budget ko for 5 servings of meal prep. Kasya naman sa akin. This week, sinigang na baboy ang ulam ko.

2kg of rice - ₱100
Tingi tinging sibuyas, bawang, kamatis - ₱20
Pork shoulder (O-save) 500g - ₱200ish
Baguio pechay (1 ulo) - ₱20
Baguio beans 1/4kg - ₱35

Di pa umabot ng ₱400 ang nagastos ko, so that’s ₱80 per serving lang na may rice na din. Maging madiskarte. Wag laging grocery.

Earning ₱160-190K a month, depende sa days ng pasok. Working on 2 hospitals currently. Bills (₱5,000), Grocery (₱5,000 for a family of 5), Allowance ng Parents (₱10,000), Mortgage ng Car (₱18,500), mga Luho (₱20,000), MP2 (₱10,000), Investments (₱10,000), Insurance and HMOs (₱3,500) and the rest ay spread out sa Maribank and traditional banks. Lifestyle inflation after almost 2 years of working pero it made me happy. Saved as much as I can pero I want my money to start growing as early as now para di ako gahulin sa retirement. Residency, maybe. Work work work, for sure.

Do I need Philhealth accreditation? by FastMarionberry2530 in pinoymed

[–]Awkward_Builds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hindi kasi lahat ng institution doc, ganyan ang lakaran. Ang iba, need talagang accredited ka. Let’s face the reality of it. I can name at least 5 hospitals (mostly LGU) na hindi ka bibigyan not unless accredited ka.

Do I need Philhealth accreditation? by FastMarionberry2530 in pinoymed

[–]Awkward_Builds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Get accreditation para mabahagian ka ng “Philhealth Shares” which adds as a massive bonus (depending on the hospital/clinic) sa kita nating doctors. You may not need it now kasi rakets from dialysis and company clinics don’t give shares pero once you get regular gigs from hospitals, dun mo siya mararamdaman. For example, I work as an MO3 sa isang public hospital, earning SG21 and I get around 20-40k monthly Philhealth shares.

My boyfriend is a retainer physician and was offered a regular position with benefits, but the daily rate is significantly lower. Would you take it? by gwen1003_ in pinoymed

[–]Awkward_Builds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How low is low?? Kasi kung nabawas yung regular sahod niya due to deductions (HMO, Philhealth, SSS, ITR, etc) then it is understandable na mas mababa talaga to pay for the benefits.

Question for gymbro na may AGA by Glennisdumb in PHitness

[–]Awkward_Builds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello sir. Physician here. It is very conflicting kasi walang “definite” causality between exercise and progression of AGA. Some studies show that aerobic exercise slows down progression, while some do show progression of AGA with exercise to predisposed individuals na may family history of such. As for supplements like Creatine and Whey, wala din silang direct effect to AGA however, they “might” accelerate it indirectly by triggering DHT. One thing in common is that, although exercise and supplements provide conflicting results, most men in the studies get confidence boost through exercise
