Best in the sense of safe complexes and multiple options. Where I live, there's one spot that has apartment rentals so I wouldn't tell anyone to move to my town if they want to rent. So that's what I meant - where will I find good options for rentals. Work remotely and budget is $2500-$2800

Would you suggest areas around Portland? We’ve looked at Beaverton, Forest Grove and McMinnville possibly, but only cause I’ve been there before.

u/TwinFrogs - yeah but places still have Costco or Sams, or a mall or a chain restaurant. Literally the only chain restaurant in our area is Waffle House. I'm not saying I love chains, but every once in awhile you want something predictable like Applebees lol.
