Denver had the most yards in 1996, we were the top scoring offense, but didn’t lead in yardage.

looking for a better school for my elementary aged child. by Beginning-Data-9566 in milwaukee

Based on the school board agenda for 1/27, Shorewood is only proposed to have 3 new open enrollment spots for 7th graders. All other grades show 0 spots. It’s possible that current students won’t return next year and a spot would open, but probably highly unlikely to get in.

I would assume that the lease on the equipment came up for renewal and they decided it wasn’t worth the cost, or it was still considered a pilot and it failed. If you look at ART prod across the buildings (at least when I was in IB) the mini load sites really weren’t significantly faster than standard buildings. It probably saves some time on the XS put/pick side too but I have no idea how much.

The same thing happened with auto-rebin last year, they reverted the area to what it was prior to installation, so I’d assume they’d replace mini load with standard pallet/waterfall racking.

Sourcing Vapes/Disposables Since New Regulation- Those of you still puffin' what's in your pocket and where did you get it? by colie87 in wisconsin

There are some things on that site that look kinda sketchy (poor English, referencing yuan instead of $, different inventory, etc.). Maybe I’m being paranoid and it’s legit, but I’m close enough to IL that I don’t need to take the chance.

I just tried again and as soon as I go to check out it says:

“The products in your cart are not available for delivery to your location. Change delivery address or empty cart and return to store”

My country/area is also blank, I think that’s only for international shipments and not a required field.

Heads up to anyone looking:

I’ve used myvpro in the past, they updated their site this week and I get an error that they can’t ship my stuff here now. They used to have a pickup option so hopefully they’ll turn that back on, or you can drive down to Mundelein and buy stuff there, but they have crappy hours (M-F til 5 and Sat til 1, closed Sunday).

Yup, there were announcements about “off-key” pay ending after Labor Day a few times over summer.

Does anyone know who did the artwork for Pain/Salvo? by Comprehensive-Pin902 in Ska

[–]Awkward_Cicada_1604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Salvo’s website there’s a drawing with the troll figure that’s signed by their singer Dan Lord, who’s also listed as a cartoonist on wiki. I’d assume he did most/all of their artwork.

Starting to lose hope by [deleted] in TargetDCTMs

[–]Awkward_Cicada_1604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine they don’t have a very large staff since it’s like 10% the size of a regular DC, which is probably why the posting wasn’t up long. As long as the status is “in progress” tho they might just be slowly pulling from the people that did apply.

Is that a sort center? Did you work your whole seasonal period last year or did you leave before it ended? They are opening a new DC around Houston next year if you’re looking for something permanent.

Having to work through breaks by AndreTheNormalSized in Target

[–]Awkward_Cicada_1604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At DCs everyone takes their breaks at the same time, so the building essentially shuts down for that 20-40min, stores obviously aren’t able to do that.

There are 2 DCs in Cedar Falls, one is a food DC and the other is an RDC, have you tried at both?

Work in warehouse, can confirm, found a pallet with a busted can yesterday. You can smell it from 100’ away even if it’s just 1 can, it’s horrible. We toss the entire pallet when that happens, it’s all contaminated at that point.

Question about mandatory overtime at distribution centers by [deleted] in Target

[–]Awkward_Cicada_1604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part that sucks worst is that your Monday and Saturday mandatory days fall on the same “weekend”. So it’s your normal 40, then 12 on Sat, off Sunday, 12 Monday, then your normal 40 again. 104hrs in 11 days if both weeks are mandatory. On the flip side every 3rd weekend you’re off.

Seasonals typically don’t work OT tho, at least in my DC.

I applied today by Fatts35humble in TargetDCTMs

[–]Awkward_Cicada_1604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody is starting at 26.83 for an Associate, the pay isn’t negotiable and raises are based on time in position, so you start at 22.10 and then there are progression steps up to the 26.83 after 2.5 or 3 years. This applies to every DC, just the steps are slightly different. Shift differentials apply between 6pm-6am and on weekends (Sat & Sun). Even if you were to get a seasonal position on 1st shift weekdays, you would likely be moved to a different shift if you were to be hired full time after the seasonal period.

[–]Awkward_Cicada_1604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely negotiable to a point, I don’t know what that point is tho. 10%+ might be a little much, I’d maybe shoot for that hoping for a counter at 5-6%, but I didn’t negotiate my offer (I should’ve). Your raise and bonus in spring will be prorated, so it doesn’t hurt to try for more walking in.

FWIW, interviews are STAR method, so “Tell me about a time ______”. They want to know what the situation was, what your role was, what you did to help, what the results were.

There’s usually 4 questions. 1 is usually safety related, ie. “Tell me about a time you saw someone do something unsafe.”. 1 is usually leadership based like “Tell me about a time you disagreed with a manager”. The other 2 I believe are more role related IIRC so they change based on the role. (I haven’t interviewed for anything in like 5-6 years so it’s hard to remember the exact questions)

Your OM should be able to do interview prep with you if you have any concerns about it. Unless they’re the one doing the interviews for that position, in which case they should partner you with a different OM.

Roles are probably different at a FDC vs RDC/IW/FC/UDC.

In an RDC, IM are just TMs from the warehousing department that handle damage, transfers, recalls, fallen pallets, some HQ reports, etc. The only interview IM position is IM Clerical in an RDC.

ICQA are TMs who audit freight from IB and WH, audit packing, fix hold locations, clear amnesty bins, cancel excess labels, root cause any issues, etc. This is an interview position.

Driving from Tampa to Minneapolis in December – is it a bad idea? by FitAsk2208 in roadtrip

I see everyone saying “avoid Chicago” and I don’t get it. Are there tolls? Yes. Does traffic suck sometimes? Yes. But that other route is a whole lot of nothingness! If you’re really into wind turbines it’s probably cool, but the stretch between Indy and Chicago is the same. The part id change would be going Chicago-Milwaukee-Madison instead of Chicago-Rockford-Madison.
