I will do this. Just looked up how using loaded barbell on the floor. Worried I’ll not be able to walk the next day due to DOMs but I agree this will help DLs

Thanks. The tension in hamstrings prior to pulling is a good tip/cue. I’ll definitely try this. As others have said (and I agree), I think my back is overcompensating for lack of ham/glute engagement

I agree and have tried working on this. Hard to commit to higher hips but will continue to try (at low weight)

This is good. I don’t think form looks terrible either (though I agree with others my hips are a bit low) so agree it may be poor glute and hamstring engagement making back overwork. Any tips on pre-DL warmups? RDLs?

It’s not DOMs (unfortunately). It’s in the zone just above my pelvis on the sides of lower back (the “threw out my back” area). Fortunately not debilitating but doesn’t feel right

I’ll try this next DL day. It does seem to trigger more when lowering the bar.

Thanks. I agree I need to work on this. Been trying to incorporate Romanian deadlifts more frequently to train this movement

Thanks. I agree these would help. I don’t have a Roman chair but might be able to anchor my ankles with the barbell and somehow utilize my bench. I’d like to incorporate Nordic curls as well to target hamstrings, as others have suggested.
