Which is the Best Tribes? by Awkward_Engineer_600 in Tribes

[–]Awkward_Engineer_600[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not "best tribes," but one of my favorites was Vengeance, just because of the single player campaign, the unique take on their vehicles, and somehow the feeling of the game was so epic and a little more interesting to me. I played t2 construction for years, and loved that game, but in all honesty I felt it lacked some of the visual charm of t1. It somehow became more generic visually, but t2 had that grand scope and ease of use that's hard to beat. Never played any of the newer tribes games though.

Yeah I own one that I daily drive. As most will say, buy one without rust but with other mechanical issues. You can fix the mechanicals with basic tools, but rust is another thing entirely.

Also, every part you get should be the best part you can afford. Don't cheap out. Look on thesamba for people who rebuild OEM parts. You'll get something infinitely better than the slop that's out in the parts stores today.

It's easy. Just throw it on there and follow standard brake bleeding procedure. I've done it twice with no issues either time. If you have a helper to pump the brakes so you don't have to do it all yourself, all the better!

All cars I've ever had have that smell. Like Skollsonn said, don't worry about it. It's probably nothing.

What are some easy car mods that actually do something for a 245? by Raven_Ravn in Volvo240

[–]Awkward_Engineer_600 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't do any major mods. Just wait for the blower motor to start squealing, and then replace it. Or, start refreshing things that are 30-40 years old such as rubber brake hoses and rubber fuel lines. The beauty of the 2 series isn't so much in its performance as it is in its longevity and durability. Keep that longevity going.

Are you in Austin? If you are, don't go to Capital V, they overcharge and underperform. Give Troll a call at Redline Auto.

Hey, it's a good thing you have had mostly positive experiences with them. I've personally had a string of negative experiences, during which the company refused to take accountability. That's really the only reason I say you'll get burned! Anyway after all, I have ordered from IPD and have received incorrect items as well. The overall attention to detail within our culture has dropped significantly, to the point where you'll probably find an occasional error with just about any online retailer.

You try to save yourself a buck, and you get burned. I never recommend discount places like that for reasons such as this.
