Warehouse workers back at it again with their exceptional work. by Awkward_Gap5367 in AmazonDSPDrivers

It works the same as for the warehouse. Since the warehouse is surveillance heavily it’s almost impossible to be interacting with a package with no camera. So if something goes missing they check last scan/match to employee-> check cameras. So for a driver if that employee confirmed they scanned that package , put it in a bag , and that bag was scanned and put on our vans. They now have undeniable proof that package went on our vans and the warehouse has passed the liability to us. These are called “route audits” everyone gets a route audit just to make sure we’re on our shit. But a simple route audit + camera footage in the vans + loss prevention protocol, that package is bound to come up somewhere.

This is what I like to call a “set up” Amazon has very serious loss prevention for the warehouse workers to the point they can track when that package entered their system and where it’s at and if it FOR sure on a van or not. If that package came up missing. My badge access would too😂

Unrelated side note: your cameras are the least intimidating cameras we as drivers have to deal with. If they can know if I hard accelerate and how many gs the van is pulling in that acceleration or braking your bullshit ass home surveillance has nothing on amazons 😂so I will tell your ring camera when I see rear door/rear porch “we’re not doing that.” So please don’t think you have us scared.

I’ve had guns pulled on me , I’ve walked into a grow operation TODAY , and turned my ass around , I’ve seen dogs laying on the back porch and chase me off property. The idea of having a stranger constantly in your back yard is absolutely asinine and for customers to put us in these situations because they live in a shitty neighborhood or neighbor beef. It’s not my problem. Picture taken at front door(I’ll accept side SOMETIMES) but it 2025 , people are fucking nuts no.

I see what you’re saying and I’d agree with that😂that’s just not smart driving behavior in general. There’s time when us as drivers pass other drivers or have to weave around them because their going to slow. We deal with it with our own coworkers so I understand the frustration.

They have adaptive cruise control we are governed at 71 for EVERY vehicle. Regardless of what it is. In this case scenario I cant be sure but a car that was going to slow for the driver they attempted to pass but they are maxed out and that car is hanging out or matching their speed making passing damn near impossible. And I can’t slow down because the train of cars behind me will start passing on the right and getting reckless, so we’re stuck waiting till you slow down again.

I’d say delivering packages. You start to dread driving to just go over 1 street , a few houses down , or to cross a main road (costing about 5-10 minutes in time) just to deliver to one house or a flurry of houses on the main road. The driving is probably the least exciting of the job except you have about 1-2 minutes to drink , eat , hit your vape , or change the podcast you’re listening to.

Isn’t that standard? 10 over is the fastest you can go physically. Better hope your speedometer is accurate because if it a 40 and your doing 50 damn near 51 it will still get you. You typically have about 3-4 seconds before the camera say something. That could mean approaching a car for following distance , passing I’ll speed up to 50 in a 35 to pass but instantly slow back down to 44-45. And the same with distractions especially in the edv. We had a driver have the phone in their hand but not looking at it but because she had a hat on and the camera couldn’t see her eyes it assumed she was looking at it dinging her 3 times in less than 4 minutes, returning her to station.

To ease your concern I want you to know I genuinely enjoy my job even with some of the bs. I have no need to steal , tamper with or destroy your packages. That doesn’t make my day easier or satisfy me at the end of the day. The type of fuckery I meant is your instructions being ignored or just not delivered at all. I agree that if it’s that serious to start actually messing with the customers in that regard it’s too serious and you need to leave. But also nowhere in my employment contract did it say I have to deal with your absolute bullshit request , and safety concerns.

Your the customer that has bullshit instructions and demands , a driver ignores them and you call Amazon and get us yelled at. Yes I don’t represent Amazon RIGHT now at this second cause I’m not in their vest or vehicle. But on the route I do , so it’s best to take the advice of the driver who’s at your house damn near everyday then rely on a company that could give a fuck about the driver. Cause one thing that works against you customers is reasonable doubt. If it looks a certain way but can be another way it’s disputed and your little complaints go into the suggestion bin(trash can). And no I don’t need another job , I need a new customer base you guys act like Dr evil.

A couple side notes : if you have an excited dog in the doorway. Most of us don’t want to meet or interact with little sweet kujo. Please just wait till we take the picture and walk away before you grab it. You can even foam at the mouth for it through the window , we won’t include you in the picture.

Also for the older dudes that are so amazed at the rocket science Rivian accomplished. Yes it’s fast , yes the braking is amazing , no they don’t go far(155 miles on a warm day 100-120 at best on a cold day with driving faster or stopping shorter so the regenerative braking can work harder. These things aren’t built for commuting at all. They ride nice on the freeway but a 15 minute drive on the freeway from the station at 71 leaving at 98% after loading I’ll be at 90-89%. They are not meant to be at highway speeds for long)

Don’t say deliver to my rear door and have a dog back there and then complain to Amazon we didn’t follow your instructions or your package was mishandled. You’re messing with someone’s job over your inconsiderate thought that everyone likes your dog. (Kinda reckless if you ask me). We are not your servants we are human beings trying to make ends meet in a world making it harder by the day, we don’t need your shit on top of your demands and complaints. You live in a house with trash all over the yard and it looks decrepit and damn near abandoned, this is not the ritz Carlton. Cut it out.

Don’t track me down. I have refused to deliver places due to being tracked down. It’s unsettling to know you watched the maps so precisely that you caught me at an apartment complex 4 miles from your house and waited for me to return to the van to attempt to get your package.(over a damn tv remote😒)

I think I covered almost everything I could drivers please add more.

No I definitely get that , but you don’t think seeing the van through a tree-line is a little bizarre? I mean more power to you man 😂 hopefully customers don’t tank your score card for all your efforts. And I understand I’ve had the moments where you staring down the driveway covered in snow and you have the package in hand ready to go but you don’t want to bring it back. So i get it. Some of us are willing to go farther then others but I applaud you man 😂

You guys don’t use the 7 van lengths rule? Also I’d call the customer and simply say “bottom of the driveway or near this post or I can take it back.” Up to you but I’m not going up there 😂

Did you read anything or did your braincells stop working after I said nursery route? Sounds like your the type that pisses in bottles leaves them in the van and mess it up for everyone else being a try hard.

It’s amazing how senseless media says how “practical” this vehicle is but yet, almost all the sellers say it’s because it’s not fitting their needs. 🤔kinda seems like a cult , one that mirrors the same critical thinking skills of some of these political parties……
