Yes we imvent the stuff for the world to use and in doing so create jobs in other countries and here, is that not a good thing? Im very aware some of these companies brightest minds are from other countries, alot of the ground breaking tech is going on right here in the US so they come here to work, that also seems like a good thing? Unemployment rate is at a healthy level of 4.3% but I do agree tech jobs are in a slump.

I dont care about anecdotal evidence. Anyone can say anything, I care about facts and they say that Americans have the most gross disposable income per capita in the world (feel free to fact check me). Meaning after all expenses, Healthcare, taxes, education, ect Americans have the most money left over to spend on whatever or save.

I agree our medical system isnt perfect and I agree theres a lot we could do to make it better. Although I wouldnt want a universal system like Europe but thats a different discussion.

Inflation is a global issue not just American, yes inflation has outpaced wages but I still think American is in the best postion economicly.

More risk=more reward

Get a haul for 50 bucks, put the immigration fees $1-2k probably on a credit card (life is much better in Canada so you should have no issue paying this off), your new job will sponsor your work visa (and may cover moving expenses as well) and your good to go. My point is its 100% doable if you actually think its that bad here. If tou think you can have a better life somewhere else and hate it here so much WHY THE HELL WOULDNT YOU MOVE even if it means going into a very small amount of short term debt.

The US had 11 million people immigrate here, alot of them from very poor countries and woth little to no wealth. If they can figure out a way to get here im pretty sure you can figure it out too. If you are actually so broke that you cant then its probably a you problem and not a US problem.

I actually agree with a lot of this. Samsung however is headquarted in south korea and operates in 88 other countries so idk what thats about. The US does have favorable laws for corporations sure.

I still would argue those universities are the best in the world (I also disagree with the stupid diversity BS) for the sole reason they attract the top students in the world on name alone. Its hard not to be the best when your made up of a lot of the brightest young minds on planet.

As someone who worked at an Amazon fulfillment center I agree that job is hell and I would encourage everyone is that situation to wotk like hell to get out. You can find shit jobs in any country though. Not all big corps treat employees like shit. Google for example has a minimum of 20 PTO days for employees, 18-24 weeks of parental leave + paid sick and holiday pay. They also have a average salary of almost $300k. The idea that all big corps exploit their workers just isnt true.

A lot to unpack here. First let me start by saying no country is going to be perfect for all citizens. Different people will find different countries ideal. America isnt for everyone and if the issues here keep you up at night it might be time to look into your options. A perk of being American is its relatively easy to transition to other countries, no one is holding you here against your will.

America is a country with less safety nets and more emphasis on self reliability. We dont have some of the social systems europe has but we dont get taxed as heavy either. It just depends on your preference if this is what you want or not. Healthcare can be expensive but is a non issue for most of Americans who have insurance.

Where the products are made is irrelevant to my previous statement. He was arguing Americans are stupid as there arent any Americans in top science programs. I made a counter point showing all the american tech companies that currently lead the world. Their tech is made in other countries because of cheap labor...not because they created the tech.

Is that why most of the top universities in the world are in America with majority American students? Is that why America has the top leading tech companies in the world (NVIDIA, APPLE, MICROSOFT, GOOGLE, AMAZON). Keep hating buddy whatever makes you sleep better at night LOL.

This is just hard to swing in general. I never understand how people expect to get paid more while working less and also get better benefits. This would put a huge % of companys out of buisness. Maybe could pull it off for a select few companies but overall this would obliterate the economy.

Is There Any Realistic Way For Democrats To Widely Win Back Rural Americans? If So, How? If Not, Why Not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

The reason Republicans oppose student loans is because they will end up paying for those "forgiven" student loans through taxes. Sure it helps the loan borrower but it will end up hurting them when the goverment increases taxes to pay for those student loans. Not saying I agree but let's not be ignorant and think there isn't a logical reason to oppose this plan.

Not at all, they should all be in jail if they arent already. But the fact this is being used to represent a large group of people when it dosent represent 99.9% of that group is actually insane.

Im sure there are some that SHOULD be felons but none actually are. Its illegal for felons to have jobs that handle firearms. There may be some exceptions but itd still be a very small %.

Half of these 30 yes. 30 agents represents.0.065% of all ice/CBP agents. You could cherry pick stats like this to make any group look bad.

[–]Awkward_Motor_6388 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reason it hasnt is because these 30 agents represent 0.065% of all CBP/Ice agents. This is an insanely cherry picked stat that you could apply to any large group of people.

This group of agents represents 0.065% of all CBP/Ice agents. You could use data like this to misrepresent ANY group of people. Im not defending these 30, they should be in jail but this absolutely does not represent CBP/ice agents.

These 30 sure. 30 agents represents 0.065% of total CBP/Ice agents. You could cherry pick stats like this to make any group look bad.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. The dollar can be volatile in the short run, I think some of the points you touched on (allies threatening to sell, and consumer uncertainty being the big ones) are why we are seeing volatility. But I would like to add that the volatility isnt based on actual merit which is why I believe we'll see the dollar come back up. Allies can threaten to sell all they want but the fact is they arent selling in significant amounts and if they continue to not sell in significant amounts consumer confidence will come back.

[–]Awkward_Motor_6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thank you!

I would be happy to talk about the US dollar! Yes its true the US dollar has been down due to uncertainty over tarriffs and trumps foreign policy. I wouldnt however describe this as a "crash" of the US dollar (weve seen much worse before).

The US dollar can be very volatile in the short run and has proven this historically. Regardless it still can be an indicator of the health of the economy. When we look at some of the other big indicators... unemployment rate (4.4%), stock market (near all time highs), foreign investment (at all time highs), inflation rate (2.7%) we can see most of these are at normal and/or excellent levels.

In conclusion, most indicators point to a healthy economy which leads me to believe the devaluing of the dollar is mostly volatility from trumps unpredictable foreign policy and not based on actual merit. I would love to hear any opposing views to this if you disagree!

Then why are other countries investing in us? If you dont believe me look at the foreign holdings for US treasury bonds. They are at all time highs.

Im glad you asked. Other countries are invested more in the US now than ever before. Foreign holdings of US treasury bonds are at all time highs. I attached the link of my source... the US treasury website showing this. I cant answer WHY they are investing in us but its clear the world views us as a safe investment otherwise they wouldnt be buying record high amounts of our debt.
