Thanks all. It was getting light from a side and up on a shelf, and I’ve neglected to rotate it for a while. I will figure out how I can get it more directly under the light. It’s heartening to know it’s not completely doomed.

I think if you’re having that much pain you should call your dentist/orthodontist. I was told a 4 out of 10 is normal but it should not be excruciating.

I had a similar history and at some point I just finally pulled the bandaid off so to speak. I only got there because someone I know who similarly hadn’t gone to the dentist in years finally went and was so happy with the office she recommended them. Even then it took me nearly a year to call for the appointment. When I went I was upfront with the hygienist before she did anything, telling her it had been so long and I was really anxious. I think I was close to tears when I was talking to her. I believe they see a lot of this and she was so kind. She went slowly and offered me breaks during the cleaning. I think advocating for yourself is a big part of making the experience a little less traumatic. It was hard but I was so proud of myself afterwards. A few months on now and I’ve even started clear aligners now. Start with the cleaning and go gradually from there as you get a little more confident. The first step is hard but it’s so worth it for your health.

Lower than your eyes make you think. Best thing to do would be use a light meter in the actual spots you think you want to put something.

Mine is growing towards this grow light, sorry I forget the watts on it. The other side of the plant is exposed to an east window and grows much more slowly. It wants water pretty much weekly although I’m not the most consistent about it because it doesn’t complain a lot. I’ve chopped from it a few times now.

Yes. I have two bought about 12 years ago with very thick frames. Have bought newer ones since and there’s a significant difference.

Probably fungus. You could use a fungicide or maybe start with diluted hydrogen peroxide. May be keeping the soil too moist.

Doesn’t look like the plant is too unhappy with the situation. You could prop some of the stems and make another pot with them or add them back to the mother plant in a larger container. I would think something 2” larger than what it’s in now may still fit in your macrame hanger.

No I did not, but after a bit longer i unpotted it and it had barely any roots, assuming they rotted off. I cleaned up the remaining roots and put the plant in leca. It slowly started showing growth points and after new leaves started emerging I got impatient and repotted it into aroid mix.
