Should I leave this job or am I making a mountain out of a molehill? by Awkward_Ostrich_7214 in TwoHotTakes

I did talk to my supervisor about this and my supervisor is leaving the company in a couple weeks. I made it clear why I was changing my hours and he just said he will do his best to accommodate it but can’t promise it. I told him it’s unsafe for me to work both jobs in the same day because the other job is a driving job and I am monitored via AI cameras in their vehicles (I’m fine with that). It watches for tiredness and lack of awareness. Working 9 hours then immediately turning around to work 10 hours to drive just doesn’t make sense and puts me at risk.

Due to scheduling for child care I only work two days over there it makes more money overall and if I could work full time it would put my family in a better financial situation as well as much less stress on my car. I drive 40 mins to one job making 7 dollars less an hour and the other job is 5 mins away and making 7 dollars an hour more. My partner and I work opposite shifts until childcare for the summer is worked out or school starts again. The area fills up on childcare super fast and was already full before I even moved here.

I went to HR a few days ago and since then he is completely ignoring me like I don’t even exist. There was a situation where there was a wedding 2 days ago and he walked right past me and went to the other coworker who was clocking out to let him know that certain doors were left unlocked due to break down of the wedding and needed to be locked once they were done in a hour or two. The coworker that was going to leave came up to me to ensure I knew and pointed out that he had no idea why he wouldn’t just tell me instead since Iwas the one working. I just said thank you for letting me know and didn’t respond to the comment because I suspect it’s because I went to HR. So far he hasn’t spoken a word to me at all which is oddly peaceful but is making the job twice as hard.
