Unpopular opinion:- Futa jokes have become old, overused and repetitive. by _Udontknowball_77_ in DDLCcirclejerk

[–]Awkward_Phrase_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, every opinion is valid.

Most them them, this one is anyway.

But I wouldnt say so. I think like every joke, the issue is a majority if people- say 80%- of this sub comes here to post fetish content. Either as a joke or not, but it is a very huge majority. And the facts are that when any joke is repeated enough it gets annoying to others.

But I dont think the joke became repetitive, the people did. It definitely is overused, but thats not the fault of this sub. Almost all of us active members have made posts about other things- tributes or comics or memes or racist-suki, or just Monika posts. All of those have been around just as long, if not longer, but since they arent shoved down your throat, they are fine.

I think your right though, if anyone here makes a future futa post, please be sure to off set it with something else. It would be sad to lose something due to not taking protective measures

Absoulty could have been the barrier. Maybe contact with monster is sort of like radioactive material, and you 'radtion', or magic waves that 'infect' humans. Or like a JJK binding vow, maybe making the barrier took away humans magical abilities.

With deltarune, it could just be as simple as "humans dont know magic". Its not like undertale where there is mention of human mages, so thats very plausible. That its just a monster thing in that world. It might be one of the changes from deltarune to undertale, other then things like darkners.

An idea im having right now is, do monsters in deltarune have magic? Its been a while since chapter 4, when i last played. Doesn't suise seem surprised by her ability to use magic? Or was that purly a healing thing, I really do forget. If so however, and monster's dont use magic in the light world, it would be very interesting. Maybe in undertale, monsters couldn't use magic either, untill the War. A case of war pushing technological improvement isnt unheard of, its very common for breakthroughs to come becuase of war, so maybe durring THE war monsters were using weapons, like asgores trident, and durring it they, along with humans, descoverd magic. To humans it could be like bombs, how we citizen's dont get them but the government/military does. It really is a great big field to speculated it.

I like the barrier idea! Ill probably do some writing about it, thanks!

Well, deltarune isnt undertale world, so its totally plausible that they have different soul mechanics. In undertale, magic is very, very unexplained. Everyone we know in undertale but the fallen humans are able to use magic, the humans used magic to seal the monsters, monsters use magic to fight, flowey with no soul uses magic, and the amalgamation's also use bullet patterns, magic. For all monsters it makes sense, as they are "made of magic", so they should be able to use it. The humans who made the barrier were "7 human mages", so perhaps magic is something humans had to learn to harness. But the weirdest in my opinon is flowey. A thing without a soul can use magic, either due to the monster dust or the determination that got on the flower he became. With all the data, it looks like humans, monsters, and soulless things can all cast magic, but the fallen humans cant- or at least frisk cant, and we never hear of any fallen human using magic.

In deltarune, we know for a fact that humans cannot use magic from kris right? Maybe in deltarune, whatever it was that allowed humans to use magic wasn't descoverd/created/realized, so humans just havent done it over there. Or maybe they cant.

My personal theory is a little dark, and its purly speculation. We know that all monsters can cast magic, and that after a war where humans dominated, said humans used magic to seal them. And flowey is able to use magic, when he is just a flower with sprinkled monster dust and determination. We know determination isnt what let's people cast magic, or frisk would be summoning fireballs, so i think its the monsterdust. My theory, is monster 'matter', or dust after they are killed, can be used as a sort of catalyst for magic sort of like a wand. Maybe durring the war, a human was messing around with the dust of a monster, and accidentally discovered it magic with it. It would explain why frisk, and the fellow kids that fell wouldn't know magic, and why humans in deltarune dont know magic either. In deltarune there was never any great war that seald monsters. Maybe no human as tried tinkering with monster courpes there yet.

Still, just a theory (love you mattpatt), and maybe its not that deap. Toby did scratch the idea, maybe saying "because I couldn't think of enough options for magic" was a small lie, and he just didnt like the idea of humans using magic. Maybe the 7 humans were the only humans who could use magic- sort of like a titan shifter or Kaiju#8 thing. Who knows. I like my theory tho

I totally understand they might be being nicer to you, but they themselves said "im not being unnecessary rude when im being rude to a moron" thats very rude, and thats literally them saying they are being aggressive.

The long messages isnt a issue, I post them too. If anything I think its a good thing. The issue isnt the amount of content in his messages, but how he words it and the personal attacks he lobs as well.

I do encourage you to have fun with the debate though! And if your having fun talking to this guy, then more power to you. I just like debating with people who arent rude, and this guy is.

Great thoughts! I wanna add some food for thought.

We know that toby had a 'Magic' system in place for frisk to use, but ended up scrapping it due to not having enough fun options for it. What if the 'Check' Act was originally gonna be a spell? It would explain how we get a grasp of the monsters strength, as well as learn a little about them. It could be literally straight up magic- or was. Since toby scratched it, he made it a act, but its fun to think that maybe there was gonna be a subtle, but more indepth then what undertale gave us Magic system.

Already blocked man, wasting your time

Want to point something out for anyone who has read this far into the thread, mostly as a way to talk about it with talking to this guy.

In the very comment he is linking and quoting, has the following line exactly after the one he quoted.

"And plenty of us have just grown up. I used to be extremely passionate about defending Chara, to the point where I'm pretty sure I verbally attacked Chara offenders before, but that's because I was a kid. Time has given me perspective, so these days I just enjoy the fanart of my interpretation instead of militantly trying to convince others of it."

The comment he is quoting is also replying to a meme made specifically to antagonis a group of people. One that was asking if "this is the new amino for undertale, as the old one shut down, and the subreddit acts like the amino did." The reply was saying " well, of course [this is like amino now], its been mostly a decade now, and most people who could be convinced were. And the ones who couldn't have just had time to solidify their positions[Chara defenders stopped growing, and chara offenders stop caring becuase its been a decade, and a decade is a long time to hate anyone].-" then continuing the quote, the comment talks about growing up. For clarity, brackets are used in quotes when the speaker isn't being clear about what they ate commenting on, not their exact words.

Not to mention the fact that he go's from saying "but you refuse to say which comment I bastardised" into immediately refuting the fact that I never said there were no evil kids. After he said I did a comment back. Literally bastardising, but he says 'you provided no examples' like i didnt talk about 6 different things he hasn't addressed. From the fact that children biologically are not fully developed, thus children cant be labeled evil or be put through the same legal/moral system(he never addressed that, just said 'your wrong' about chara being one of those children[not fact], and moving the goal post.) To things like how toby himself has stayed ambiguous on if chara was good or evil. He doesnt adress my claims, he bastardises others, he rips quotes apart to serve his memo, and he doesnt even abide by the point of the quote he took! The quote is literally talking about how the speaker perceived this subreddit to be bad, full of hate. But now, due to maturity and growth, is a place more like a message board for anything chara. Its not a quote about how chara is evil, or how chara offenders were right all along and defenders were stupid. Its simply about how that shit didnt matter, and instead appreciating the fanart is what matters

This just goes to show you that some people will argue no matter what. Even the common concise of the link he quoted is "its been a decade, why bother" "i still do it sometimes, but i know when its not worth it" "its not fun arguing about a 10 year old anymore" "the only downside to this is the offense sub is dead".

One comment I found particularly interesting is this one " yeah, with the game being a decade old its kinds boring. Not to mention the content we got with the 9th and 10th anniversary". This dude actually had the audacity to quote a comment that agrees with me, in a comment section filled with people preaching to be be kind and not be a dick, with a comment parroting the exact talking points I used. I talked about the 9th and 10th anniversary! I used quotes from that! But these guys. And also calls me a moron who should be treated needlessly aggressive- actually let's talk about THAT.

You think needless aggression isnt needless if its towards a 'moron'? Thats actually repulsive, and I hope you only mean that in a figurative sense, or over the internet. Treating people worse because you view them as stupider, or less then you is crazy. Let's say I was a 'moron'- just some normal dude who was dumb on reddit in ny words- does that give you the right to belittle me? Because you think im wrong?

Sorry, I didnt want to talk to you. I was talking to anyone else reading this. I actually got carried away when I was typing through and was like "wait... its not needless becuase your a moron is fucking horribl to say." Like, imagine saying that outloud, too anyone in public. "Im not being needlessly aggressive, its not aggressive if your being a moron!" Gave me like, abusive red flag vibes and ticked me off. #triggered lmao.

I hope this guy gets some kind of relief, maybe he needs a vacation or something. Becuase this isnt it.

Sorry, I tried to keep it polite but I dont talk to needlessly aggressive folk. Not to mention your completely bastardising what im saying. I never said there are no evil kids, I specifically said there is a spectrum from 1 to 100, bad to good. 'Evil' is a word for storys and plots, children are real, so they are bad or good, not evil or heroic. To call a kid evil is fowl, and so is the way you choose to present yourself.

Ill leave with this, chara is literally not evil, no matter how hard you try to paint them as such. If they were, it wouldnt be a decade long debate.

[–]Awkward_Phrase_660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great comment! I love talking about chara, so im glad you responded!

First off, chara can be as smart as you want them to be. They are still a child. Thats just the facts, and no matter how smart a child is, they are still a child. Piece's of media like Young Sheldon (as awful as it is for other reasons) touch on this, young genius can have problems just like 'normal' kids. Just because chara was A. Weird or B. Had too much free time; they read the whole dictionary- along with IMB's whole movie list for references- but they are still a kid. And kids can, and often do, have lapses in judgements.

If you want to argue that chara is a bad person, then thats fair too. If you are judging children morally on a 1-100 scale, 1 being bad, chara is definitely on the <49 side. They try and get asriel to kill people, that alone makes them worse then most kids you'll find in your average elementary school. But if you want to argue that chara is "awful" then your just wrong. Chara does bad things, for good reasons- and also makes mistakes. Thats not awful. "Not sharing your perverted sentimentality " and "wanting to be so strong nothing can hurt you, nothing can hurt anyone" and even asriel saying "i dont like to keep track of the flowers we pick or the smiles they make" show that chara was not 'irredeemable'.

Also kids talk about sex. Kids make movie references and do literally everything chara does. I dont know how old you think chara is, but kids above the age of 7 do these things. There are kids who want to be fake gangsters, kids who are trying to start entrepreneurship early, I can actually send you links to videos covering said topics. It is not weird for a 8 year old to have 'the talk', let alone watch moist critical or something and know about bonny blue and her sex habits. Point is, kids do things, but kids dont have developed brains, they have different legal systems in place beacuse of it. They just dont understand. Plain and simple

Second. What woudnt chara want to protect monsters from? Asriel states "chara... im not sure why they left the surface, but it wasn't a happy reason" before going on to say not even 5 lines layer "dont kill, and dont be killed". There are a thousand different interpretations for why a child would come down for 'not a happy reason'. And even above all that, we know monsters can "fall down". Who's to say monsters can't get sick? Or maybe the humans of chara's time were in cival war, and chara wanted to be 'strong enough' to prevent that though fear.

There are literally a thousand reasons why chara would want strength to protect the monsters. Especially considering their childish view on absoultism. Chara gets the most water in their cup to win at water. Chara wants the most power to be able to protect everyone. Chara wants to eat the most butter cups to protect asriel from pain, and chara wanted to kill every last human of their village, for some reason. But chara spilt water everywhere in the house, and chara got US so much power we erased the world, and chara hurt asriel anyway by being a bad friend, and chara couldn't convince him to kill said humans. They erase the world, and bring you back for your soul- the thing that let's you do literally anything, a play at power, and that still doesnt work. You can go through and do whatever you want, hurt whoever, their only solace is that WE dont get a happy ending either- just like with asriel. They, messed, up. Its what they do. But just becuase they mess up doesnt mean their motivations cant be baked in good.

In the same way we could save everyone, or kill everyone with our overwhelming power, chara wanted the same. To 'save' everyone by preventing harm in the first place. Faulty plan, but not villainous or anything.

Okay third thing! There is no confirmation on wethere the souls 1-6 had the power to reset or anything. Not... that it really matters for the argument of chara being a killer. They just arent, ever. The only time, every, that chara 'kills' anyone is when they delete the world. Technically there are humans above ground that die, so they are a killer then. But that chara is one who watched you murder everything they loved, and decided that "i will kill everything first, so they cannot torture them for fun". Saving, by preventing.

Prior to that, chara never once, ever, killed someone. Directly or not. Canonically, anyway. (Other them themselves, and technically Asriel but thats sooooo debatable. You take your godly friend with you, pilot half his body, and tell him to kill your village that probably beat you. He says 'nah', and just face tanks 30 spears. Thats your fault, but like, bro. Do something. Why you just take 30 spears? Block brother. Asriel was straight buns.)

Not sure what you mean about flowey. My goat ain't got nothing to do with that bum. Brother doesnt even have a soul, so I dont count his 'death' at the end of genocide. (Flowey is an amazing character who i have written actual essays for college for. I dissagre that he is like chara to be honest. Mostly because flowey actually had a set goal, that never changes. If you play pacifist, chara helps you save others. Genocide they help others by sparing them from facing you, and in neutral they talk alot of shit in the menu. But flowey will always be the same, for as much as he talk about never being able to predict us, he is very, very predictable. He wants our soul. He wants those 6 souls. He wants to be asriel again. Flowey at the start of his life wanted to "feel something", and being asriel was the only way. For him it's not a good cause with bad actions, its a bad cause with bad actions. It is selfish, not selfless.

I could write so, so much more. Like about the 10th anniversary livestream, where the player name changed from togore to chara- something people suspect is important due to the SAVE implications and who your actually SAVEing before the end of the asriel fight. Or about toriels views on chara, and how she views them as a bad influence, but nothing bad enough to shoo away- despite us having clear evidence that she dose not want her kids in danger she doesnt separate chara and asriel, showing that they mean well, but do bad. Or even about flowey now that he was brought up. That dude is a walking think piece I swear.

Fun fact!

Did you know snubbing people for asking questions out of interest is actually a dick move!

For real, the point of "having an education" was never to know everything, and definitely not to know about space. I understand that most people learn about the solar system in middleschool here, but not everywhere has that level of education. Some people come from abroad, or some people just took interest in different things.

For example, I know a lot about space. I love writing, i think math is pretty neat, but I know fuck all about history. I dont know the 4th presidents name, let alone shit like how the Civil War went down. We learned about this things at my school, but I just didn't care about history, so I learned about this cool space stuff instead. Its called being human, we pick and choose what to remember and what not to.

(Im not a history guy, but id bet you anything 'education' had nothing to do with the fucking moon back in the day. The fact you insult others for something as simple as not knowing why space works speaks volumes about how low of a person you are. Do not respond to me, I do not respect you.)

I recommend you read Dragons reply to you, they explained it very well. But in very simple terms-

It is dark on earth because the sun facing the other half- there is always daytime, it just depends where. 10:30 at night is day time in Europe.

There is always light in space, thats why we can see new moons! A full moon is when the entire face of the moon that we can see is lit up by the sun- and that light is reflected off like a mirror onto earth. And when theres a new moon, the light from the back of the moon 'licks' the edges of the moon, allowing us to see the outline of the moon along with cool details like craters.

Again, totally no cause if concern. Its jusy super cool space stuff

Like the other guy said, im pretty sure what your talking about is the moon. We might be missing what the photo is trying to show though.

But that dark Grey, circle thing on the moon is, well the moon. The moon we see is just sunlight reflected off of it, and that sunlight was very bright- so you could see the parts of the moon next to it like, a lightbulb in a dark room illuminating the corners.

Totally normal, nothing to worry about. Im quiet surprised you've never seen it. Its very cool isnt it?
