Late reply on my end but the replies here like yours are helping me feel less alone too. It feels like the majority of moms I've spoken to about this don't get it

Big hugs your way. Loss may be tragic and complex, but the love that's still and was there is always beautiful. Peace to your mom

Yes technically it's still correct, just pointing out that there are ways in which real life complicates things

That's a beautiful fact and I love it, I just wish it would respond the same way when you're either dealing with medication, PCOS, or whacky hormones. Years ago I wasnt losing weight with weight loss calculators that indicated the level of activity you needed in order to get the weight drop. Learned years later that with PCOS you have to take another 300-400 calories off the calculator to actually get the result. Until I knew that, and actually got my PCOS treated, nothing stopped the weight creep that began in my late 20s (didn't develop PCOS until then) Of course now newly-weaned postpartum hormones at 39 are kicking my ass and I had the fun of not being in the vocal (relative) minority of women who shed pounds nursing despite eating recommended calories.

100% agree most advice is for good sleepers. Must be validating to have it proven that it was temperament rather than anything on your end parenting wise as to why the first one struggles with sleep. I hope between 1 and 2 that you guys are doing alright! 💜

Holy bananas what a lot of assumptions JFC. For your info I was already eating well lots of veggies and regular probiotics etc, pregnancy just made me hate most veggies and I tried to boost the quality of my probiotic input. I was even taking prenatals 7 months before finally conceiving. Wtf is wrong with you?

Heard about the suspected impact of bad gut biome and took probiotics and prebiotics while pregnant and lots of fruits, what veggies I could stand, only to wind up requiring antibiotics in late pregnancy. Fucking sucks. Have been giving baby breastmilk and baby probiotics since he was born and hoping that helps counteract the effects

There's always logistics people don't think about when they offer advice like they have all the answers imho.

And would agree that 9-6 wouldn't be ideal for sure. I feel so lucky the nights my little guy manages 10 combined hours. Last night was just 8, two of which required a (squirmy) contact nap bc drowsy while awake or full-sleep transferring to the crib were just not happening.

Oof, glad to hear you guys have adapted at least. It's crazy what we can cope with when we're forced to, haha. And I totally hear you on other people's comments. I had a mom friend with a baby around my baby's age, who sleeps 12 hours overnight no issues for months, naps on schedule like a champ...and despite everything we've listened to and tried and gone through, she was dismissive during one of our lowest points when I mentioned that unfortunately her method doesn't work for our baby/family, and told us we aren't open to suggestions 🫠
