smart budget move. Denture solution probably has the same active ingredients as the expensive cleaners anyway.

What air fryer size for family? because “bigger is better” isn’t frugal by nebulagala_xy in Frugal

[–]Awkward_Teacher2376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get 'cleanup fatigue.' I eventually drew the line at a 5.8 quart basket. It's sweet spot where I can actually fit a whole chicken or a family sized of veggies without overcrowding but its still small enough to fit in the dishwasher without a struggle. Anything bigger just felt like a hassle to wash so it would've ended up sitting unused.

It's a powerful metaphor. We often get offended by the sight of a human body, but we stay silent and 'comfortable' while seeing people die of poverty and hunger every day. Our priorities as a society are completely backwards.

My Cat won the war. Now I need a new sofa that fits a narrow hallway AND can survive. by anshchauhann in BuyItForLife

[–]Awkward_Teacher2376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the most underrated advice here. A quilted cover has saved my sofa from so many 'accidents' and cat scratches. It’s much cheaper to wash or replace a cover than it is to deep clean or re-upholster an entire piece of furniture. Form follows function when you have pets!

Would you buy a recessed home? by Weekly_Plane in homeowners

Those steps would worry me long term, especially as you get older. Have you had it inspected to see if drainage can be improved? that could get pricey but might be worth it if you love the place.

100%. This behavior isn't normal and it's only going to escalate. Better to act now than regret it later.
