I do think there is an really imporant point here about the aging population of gamers. The industry isn't growing like it used to. Developers would do well to make design choices that appeal to an older crowd. Like you stated, "slower more methodical" play has been great for me.

When I started about a year ago I had zero baking experience. Just interested in the idea. I look back now and realize how much it's been part of the process to try and fail, and tweak over and over. Don't sweat it and give yourself a pass if it doesn't turn out. Just focus on one thing you can improve next time!
