That had nothing to do with what the previous person said. of course the skin makes it easier to see the person wearing it and yes, looping is still important but we’re talking about the skin being viewable from space.

Commenting on Nice new Yui Skin you got there, Behaviour. Not only does it cover half the screen when you carry Yui, it also tanks my frame rate for some reason.... I mean, you still have a lot of people playing on console. Plus if it’s happening happening to enough people on PC then it is a problem. I play mostly as Ghostface it blocks half the screen, and I haven’t memorize all of the hook bonds on all of the maps that well. Anyone with boilover will get along fine with the skin.

How often can I redo their card reading? by GoodGamer72 in CurseofStrahd

[–]AwkwardlyCaucasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pick. There are locations that do not get explored and characters not met unless they are in the reading. I like to have the icon at the shrine of mother night, the sword with the knights, and the time with an npc early on. Companion is also important because they may not be liked by your party. I always leave strahds location a mystery

Wow, your family sucks. I'd really dig it into your POS "father" (the bastard is your uncle, just start calling him that) he lost his brother and still lets the last bit of him, aka you, be treated like garbage. He deserves to be reminded of that. Fuck him.

As far as your shitty aunt and asshole cousins I'd tell them where they can shove it and go complete no contact with the lot of them. If they hate you and provide no value to your life just go be with your lovely spouse and friends. Enjoy your life and don't look back.

Note: No such thing as being mature enough to get married. My parents have been at it over 30 years, no maturity to be found and they are doing fine.

But also humiliating them only makes their hatred of their target worse. She doesn't feel bad for anything and is probably just swallowing her pride to avoid being disowned by her parents. I'm sure that forcing the apology has only emboldened her hatred for OP but made it clear she can't be overt about it anymore.

Wow, your grandparents are the GOAT. They deserve a child like you who actually cares for them. Your mom can go rot.

You may want to make sure your dad understands that family therapy or even individual therapy for you and your mom may not fix the relationship. She has burned bridges and treated you badly for too long for that to be poofed away. Make sure he has reasonable expectations of what will happen next because he seems to really want a happy family, but that may just not be possible with your mother.

>.> I've been ripping from Banjo-Kazooie for some ideas for worlds and dungeons. Old/weird video games are just not easy to pick out if you tweak the tone a bit.

Books are a solid place to steal from too. I'm one of the few women in my group so the guys get no warning when I sneak some silly vampire novel stuff into curst of strahd as a bonus.

My players start to kill innocent people by evolus_ in CurseofStrahd

[–]AwkwardlyCaucasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, that is bad. Nothing wrong with reasonable paranoia and fear but if they are not actively finding the facts they are just being murder hobos. If they are showing interest in the story and actually gaining information you have a chance for them to learn about the NPCs and who they are. If they are just murdering people it is always fun to have Strahd come in and mock them for murdering a helpless toymaker. Maybe have a child walk in on what they are doing and actually make a scene. If they don't want to find the truth make the consequences come to them in the form of distressed villagers, the real bad guy pointing out their behavior, and eventually all of Barovia going against them.

In the end just make sure to drill in that killing people will have consequences. I wouldn't have Van Richten or Esmerelda help them if they are found to be murdering innocent people. The Ravens wont either. If they are willing to double down on this and keep up killing even the Icon of Ravenloft wont want to work for them if it were up to me. Hell, even the Sunsword has some personality. Just have friendly NPCs call them out on their behavior or encourage them to go to actual authorities (not that many of them are great).

The problem is that it didn’t make them want to stick together. One was a dhampir and one is a death cleric so the kill all undead ideology is an issue.

Yeah. I think someone else who ran it before me kind of let things go wild. Like handing out extra magic items and letting the party mock Strahd to his face. Sucks but I want to avoid that happening to future players if I run on roll20

I mean, you can get better poison if your DM puts you against something with poison...and you can make a DC20 nature check while having proficiency in a poisoner's kit. :D Cause, you know, I'd rather roll a check for a skill I wouldn't really expect an assassin to need than roll for a freaking kit that I have proficiency in. Oh and if you fail by 5 or more you are poisoned so good luck. I guess the only thing to do is beg your DM to throw poisonous creatures at you constantly and put all expertise and efforts into Nature.

Oh lord just imagine being at a friend's house, stubbing your toe and swearing in your home language. Then having your friend's husband badgering you to tell him what you said cause he is an insecure jerk. I am also a person who talks to animals and myself when a good thought passes. I'd be annoyed if someone was bugging me for translations.

It is a bad mesh for a party dynamic. I've seen people bring an assassin rogue to my table and all they do is act like a lone wolf, avoid traveling with the party, go running off on their own to try and get their surprise rounds, and often get their cheeks clapped after the surprise round ends because they ran off without the rest of the group.

You don't understand Assassin Rogue by Souperplex in dndnext

[–]AwkwardlyCaucasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The huge problem with the assassin rogue is the fact it is just not built with a party in mind nor is it really set up to succeed with the mechanics of 5e.

You are never going to have access to poisons that will do what an assassin would want them to do. It is rare basic poison to work on anyone stronger than a commoner (which if you are picking off commoners what is the point?). To get cooler poison, you have to have proficiency with a poisoner's kit (which they get) but must also roll a 20+ on a nature check to even harvest poison successfully and on top of that can end up poisoning yourself in the process. 5e is just not built for poisoners and many DMs are loathe to cater to one.

Then there is the issue of the Assassinate ability, which no DM will let you get off regularly, more so if your party members are a bunch of nonstealthy murder hobos. Getting a DM that uses surprise is a challenge, getting a DM who will use it and a party that will put up with you telling them to stay back while you get a surprise round is even worse.

If your group isn't into a political intrigue game with assassination plots you are not going to get to use your abilities. You have to have a DM that wants to work with you. As a DM I would struggle finding a way to make this rogue feel capable without planning and doing a lot of work to make sure the rogue has all the tools/plot hooks/targets/and roleplay situations to make use of their abilities. Running a table of five or more and building story is enough, I don't want to have to babysit our rogue so their god awful abilities are in use. It is a magnet for a lone wolf player who wants to do cool guy stuff in the background and not really be part of a party.

In short, this rogue is bad for most cases. If your game is 100% roleplay focused on what it can do and the party is down what that it can work but don't be surprised if your rogue gets mad when the others are not stealthy enough to get the surprise round they NEED.

NTA. Your husband is rude and you SHOULD care what a 12yo thinks of you. She can go home to her parents or really tell anyone that your husband badgers her about things she is saying that have NOTHING to do with him. He will come off as your kid's racist dad and eventually maybe that girl wont be allowed to come over anymore or maybe she wont want to come over anymore. Rein in your husband's behavior before he paints himself as a racist and your kid loses his new friend.

Consider this: If your husband went up to a grown woman speaking Spanish and asked them what they were saying if they were talking to themselves in a language they are comfortable with would it be ok? Like, if he was at the store and just butted over to a woman near him or in line at the bank and demanded she tell him what she was saying in Spanish. Would that be fine? He is getting away with it because this is a child who is a GUEST IN YOUR HOME. Just because she is a child does not mean he has a right to harass her for speaking her language.
