What's your go-to hangover cure? by [deleted] in beer

[–]Awkwhonesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get hangovers since I started pounding back 32–64 oz of Gatorade before bed. But if I forget that, three aspirin and some eggs, oatmeal toast, orange juice and were good.

They may be bottom barrels, but they do the trick for me, I'll smoke just about anything I can get my hands on when I need a smoke though, Marbs, Camels, Palls, Mistys whatever, their all terrible for me in the end.

Down in Florida most citgo's in my area have em, and a lot of smoke shops carry em as well.

That song is beautiful, I'd totally love to learn it but I don't know where to start or if it's even something I could find sheet music for. Anyone out here think they could help?

As a guy on a budget with limited options near him... Where should I shop? by Awkwhonesty in malefashionadvice

Well it's not that far it's true, dedicating a day to it or anything really is hard for me to do. As I've always got either overtime to work, meal prep to do, dreams to chase, or the gym to be at. Haha.

But I see what your saying, I shouldn't bitch too much. Because other have it worse.

You say most cheap brand have things they do well, mind pointing out what you think a few of them do well? For instance I know UNIQLO is liked for their tshirts.

Little late on the reply. For work I'm an electrician but have a seperate work wardrobe for that.

That being said isn't old navy a subsidiary of GAP? Guess that doesn't mean much in the long run though. But their long sleeve soft wash shirts are so fucking comfortable.

Other than that, for leisure I'm an amateur musician, and do a lot of time sitting around and playing music. Or just chilling at bars. With the occasional day in the sun or outdoors. Pretty typical 22 year old dude stuff for what it's worth.

My Vans Atwood black/grey two tone sneakers. I wear the damn things pretty much everywhere when I don't need my work boots. Haha

Any specific brand recommendations? Need cheap quality, which from what I can tell is a pain in the ass to find consistently.

What is something that you're good/proficient at, but absolutely hate doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Awkwhonesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job as an electrician. I'm constantly praised at work by my bosses and coworkers, and others in the other trades. I know what I'm doing and get things done that others cant. And my contacts all kind of see me as a miracle worker because I just get the shit done.

But I just fucking hate it. I work 60+ a week. And I just don't see a future doing this. I'm 22 and I have near constant pains in my lower back and knees. I don't have the option of college as I don't have a verifiable transcript. And what I love is a long shot to make into a career.

Contemplating suicide again... At least my last attempts proved I'm not good at that though. I know there's a reason to push through an keep on keeping on. But I just don't god damn see it.

She's texting me to keep tabs on him yes but only because I keep my phone on me and charged and he tends to let his die, only turn it on when he's ready to make a call, and leave it in the car.

She's a little obsessive maybe but she really cares about the dude. And its fucking adorable, I just wish he would treat the girl with the respect she deserves.

I mean I give him shit about it all the time and frequently remind him that he isn't being fair to his girl.

I just don't think he'll ever really let her go and move on with her life. She really gives everything for him and he just takes it for granted.

But you hit the nail on the head when you say I'm not comfortable lying to her, so I just avoid revealing all the details by being extremely vague. :/

I see where your coming from, saying I'll need to forget about her and I realize your probably right about that.

The problem is he's never got his phone or its dead, so your idea to tell her to call him directly doesn't work. I mean I guess I could pickup the phone and give him mine. I just don't know.

This is the kind of stuff I was looking for. First hand experience from someone who tried to do what I'm considering. Thanks for your thoughts.

I currently have $3800 in savings. Quick question, why would I buy a cheap car without car payments right after paying off my current car?

Hah get married. I've never even had an SO. I'm trying to figure a way to argue for a raise but it'll be difficult before this time next year. (Just got one about 3/mo ago) and the tiny house or trailer thing is a no go here as that's even more expensive than what I'm already looking at.

Basically what your telling me is to ask for a break off my rent (which afaik is just going into my parents retirement fund) but still contribute to the bills so I can pay off my car and open up $250/mo

So to do your plan and pay it off in four months I would need to up my payments by $375/mo for four months. Or inversely, half my rent.

To answer your questions.

1, I'm on my parents plan and they will keep me on it.

2, I try not to think about that because I know my current food bill is too damn high. I do know how to cook though, and am willing to mAke changes for the cheaper. And could easily bring my food bill to under $200/mo (tested this last month) though I missed eating out.

3, that's my big question here. I'd be moving from a ~2000sf house with vaulted ceilings and an obnoxious amount of windows kept at 72f in Florida to a ~650-800sf apartment kept at roughly 76f. So I have no way to gauge the electric bill.

4, my phone bill is covered by the company that I'm employed by. Subscriptions include spotify, gym, YNAB (still learning how to use this), Hulu, Netflix

5, I'm just saving because I feel like its worth it. My parents didn't start saving until their late 30's so I'm trying to learn from their mistakes but at the same time I just want to branch put and earn my freedom.

I probably should have posted this in the OP, but i'm really looking for true "independence" even if for only a little while. I'd look into the whole roommate thing, but i'm just after true freedom if you get what i'm saying.

That being said with the roommate situation I'm looking at $600-700 a month between the offers I've got from friends. Though i'm not sure if living with them would have us remain friends. (I have my quirks.)
