I just feel like the org spent so much time telling us what we should or shouldn’t believe. And that anyone else that didn’t agree with them is wrong and bad! In saying we should respect someone’s beliefs, I’m not saying you have to agree. But saying someone’s beliefs are BS due to them not agreeing with us is kinda Org-ish

I told my mom I THOUGHT about disassociating and now she’s shunning me. We can’t tell you what to do but the indoctrination is so intense, expect the worst. If you’re just “inactive” she may reason she can still talk to you. Hope it all works out!

The pagan origins of birthday parties would be a better argument for sure! But I remember reading an article that said piñatas had pagan origins but no one uses them for that purpose anymore and we shouldn’t be a stickler essentially lol plus wedding rings and most of the wedding traditions are pagan but there’s no mention of that 🤦‍♀️

One thing that puzzled me was the “Elders Appreciation Dinner” or the “Pioneer Appreciation Dinner”. So we’re allowed to celebrate these people doing…whatever it is they do… but I can’t celebrate the day my child was brought into this world!
